I like the box for the Xbox One better. But I am still getting the PS4.

XB1 packaging is minimal, bolder, more eye catching. Sony's is somewhat busier. I don't know if I saw both on the shelf side by side the Xb1 box would catch my eye more.

The Xbox One's feels a bit more classic, while the PS4's reminds me of older consoles's boxes. At the end of the day, neither will be exposed in my home as they will either be put in a closet or simply recycled.

As for the boxes as marketing tools in a shop, I sure do hope people won't let a box influence their decision, as it would be pretty dumb to choose between both consoles based on their boxes...

Honestly the PS4 box looks more appealing because it's smaller and I keep all my console boxes. Who cares though lol if the box affects any part of your decision to buy a console then you have a problem.

Both are good but ps4 box is 50% more powerful.

The XboxONE packaging is deff. the best of the 2. It's clean, sleek and stylish. The use of negative space helps with the overall esthetics. The PS4 however has opted for a more old school feel... to me it makes it look a bit cheap.

But these kinda things are really just a matter of opinion.

I also like that the box is bigger, which would probably be enough for a lot of consumers to justify the extra $100, because bigger box means "bigger and better". Not saying that's necessarily true, but there are people who think like that.

There is no debating. The PS4 box is the best box all way around, color, layout, flare, and it's half the size of the XBone box, and still containing a console that is 50% more powerful than the XBone and $100 less.

Why the hell would anyone keep console boxes? I kept my genesis box for 2 weeks when I was 10 because my mom made me but it back in the box and store it in the closet when I as finished playing. Then even she decided that was a stupid idea. Boxes go in the trash as soon as my console is out of them. Do you hoarders also keep the plastic with your console boxes?

Please stop posting that big display box that's in all the gamestops that's just for what it is a display. The Article has the real retail picture, same boxes that was in mass production pics.

XB1 simply has too many features to showcase them all over the box, the PS4 can play a few games so it was easy to display

Still got my PS2 & PS3 boxes, yeah i'll be keeping the PS4 box as well.

It could almost be a PS2 box. Sony are conservative , graphic design wise.

Fortunately, Sony do make the best adverts by far. Unfortunately, I doubt that the wackiness and decadence of the early PS3 adverts is going to make a comeback. But that's compensated for by the fantastic Greatness Awaits advert. But they need to get that energy across all of their marketing.

PS4 showing games reminds me of the old days, you see a box and what games are on it for starters and it draws you in. I recently packed up my Sega Saturn, and Gamecube to store and make room, and reminisced looking at the old boxes with pictures and when I first bought them.
