The release of Saints Row IV has come and gone with great controversy and concern for what Volition and Deep Sliver will do next for the series. It is no secret that fans of Saints Row 1 and 2 had hated what the development team did with The Third as well as the fact that they were highly dissatisfied with the advertisements for Saints Row IV. Now that Saints Row IV is available it has been learned that Saints Row IV may not have been as bad as fans expected but instead opened the door for new hope on what is to come for the series next.
Original Saints Row design director Chris Stockman has declared the Saints Row franchise is "dead".
I just started this game last night, just the player creation had me upset. You choose male but they stand like a female. Eyebrows are all effeminate, face, and verything seems to be modeled after a female with a thin male overlay.
I only played the opening and didn’t even complete that before I turned the game off. I will likely go back and try it again, but a very weird first impression.
The franchise has been complete utter garbage for almost 20 years. The first one was the only decent game of the lot of them.

Honestly Janky Generic feeling titles with Humor that tried to way too hard. People criticize Borderlands for its humor, but holy hell, still leagues better than any SR.
Somehow, Saints Row returned. Well, kind of. In a giddy post on the Saints Row subreddit, a lead on the original game in the Saints Row series announced that someone, somewhere might be interested in firing up Volition's (RIP) open-world crime games once more.

remake the first one but 1:1, very minimal changes ~ QoL changes that are necessary or beneficial

It always boggles my mind how developers like these get their hands on well known IPs and completely butcher it into a terrible mess.
My problem is I’ve played all of them but probably collectively an hour a piece for each. Never really got into them and always got them on discount. I wonder if that’s just the general consensus on this game. Because doesn’t feel like any of them are really worth it
To me Saints Row is one of those series that got a foothold in people's minds because the first game was in the right place at the right time (I'd put Dead Rising in the same category). In 2006 when the original came out, people were desperate for new games to play on the 360, and people were not nearly as burnt out on open world games as they are now. So the first one filled a void and served as a showcase for a new console that people were very excited about at the time.
I think the funniest thing to me was the Pecker sword in 3 but overall 3 was a pretty terrible game. I tell myself I want to go back and retry the remake of each version and I just don't feel like taking it to 1080p is going to change a pretty mediocre game at it's core
Get rid of the regenerating health, or only have a certain food type that regenerates health a bit. Regenerating health + food seems a bit much but just IMO.. I always found that a bit stupid.

Saints Row used to be great. I would love it if they were able to clean up their act and go back to what it once was (spoilers aside)
I wouldnt mind a new character during the same time different city either if it were like saints Row 1 and 2. Leave the corny stuff alone Volition. They have those jokes that were funny once but then get annoying a second third and fourth time.

I really dont know what they can do next I mean you went from gang memeber to leader to president and now ruler of alien race.
i believe the next thing to go for is GODS!!!! thats right i said gods, this way they can keep superpowers, interesting boss fights, (i was disapointed witht he paul fight it would have been awsome if they took the god of war approach and take him down kratos style) in saints row 3 they hinted alot of aliens and now saints row 4 hints at gods, at the start with the female/athena voice with the saint leader sitting on a chair (very similer to a god of war intro) but definitaley gods, although im not sure wether they should use existing gods of ancient mythlogy or use all of them (punching Jesus christ in the balls or teaming up with him reap havoc)
I don't know how they can do a Saints Row 5.
