EA Exec Says They May Develop For Wii U In The Future

Electronic Arts, who recently stopped developing for Wii U due to poor system sales, seems to be eager to bury the hatchet with Nintendo. Vice President of EA’s Sports division, Andrew Wilson, has stated that his company has a “tremendous relationship” with Nintendo, and assured gamers that Wii U games may very well be developed by EA in the not-too-distant future.

Yes, because sales are currently through the roof for WiiU, lol. It was stupid to burn that bridge in the first place.

HarryMasonHerpderp4651d ago

Just waiting for the right amount of sales then.
I hate EA. They have no backbone.

jackanderson19854651d ago

well would you rather them go bust and someone like activision take over their franchises like battlefield?

thezeldadoth4651d ago

you have to take risk at the beginning of every new launch to get games to make the console worth it. they were greedy

TheEnigma3134651d ago

Battlefield will head in that direction if they keep going the way they're going.

HarryMasonHerpderp4651d ago (Edited 4651d ago )

They're not going to go bust by giving the WiiU a little bit of support. Also EA are as bad as Activision if not worse. At least Activision don't advertise DLC maps before a game is even released.
Make sure you order the premium edition! trololol money money money!

DeadlyFire4651d ago

They were just waiting for that one year mark to say any major game of theirs is coming to WiiU. I wonder if Battlefront will come to WiiU. They have the time, the money, and likely engine will be optimized by then.

"May" ? i don't mind if they ignore it or don't , but they should already know and be knee deep into development if their support was real .

tehpees34651d ago

My guess is they will be back if it sells well over the holidays.

U.S. patent examiner rejects Nintendo’s summoning characters patent as obvious: non-final ruling

The rejection is non-final (and even when such rejections are labeled as “final”, the process is far from over, given that there can be, at minimum, an appeal to the Federal Circuit).

Good, as they should! A game mechanic like that shouldn't be locked behind a patent, and Nintendo didn't invent it either.

PRIMORDUS46d ago (Edited 46d ago )

Nintendo wants to keep wasting money on bullshit lawsuits, real smart in this economy. They should put that money aside for other game projects. On the other hand, I don't care if they waste it all either, and they are screwed in the future maybe that will teach them a lesson.

When logic meets EA it generates anti-matter ..... so try not to apply it in any meaningful way. Entropy is what matters in there !!
