During E3 2013, Microsoft announced that the runaway hit Minecraft would be available on Xbox One. At Gamescom 2013 it was Sony's turn, announcing that Minecraft will be available on PS4, PS3, and Vita. These versions are under development at 4J Studios under the supervision and direction of the original developer Mojang. As lead developer of Minecraft, Jens Bergensten offers suggestions and collaborates with the new Minecraft development team but updating and enhancing the PC version is still his primary workload.

Mojang has partnered with Merlin Entertainments to build the world's first Minecraft theme park in the UK.

This is very true, my nephews grew up on these two games and whenever I introduce them a AAA game whether old or new, it's like seeing an alien try to make sense of it and then quickly lose interest in it.

Gaming trends are so weird to me now. Like, I’m old school and games were consumed essentially how movies were. You play through a title and look forward to the sequel or other things that came out. Now, that is so not the norm.

The weird thing about Minecraft across all the systems is that for some strange reason, Microsoft versions are the "Minecraft Xbox One Edition" and "Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition" whereas on PS4 it's just "Minecraft" similar to that of PC versions...
I wonder what the difference is between the Xbox One version and PS4 version of Mincraft is?

I think not like someone said above the ps4 version is probably going to be resembling more the pc version
