$20 bucks for 6 characters and 2 DLCs before year's end sounds about right. Round 2 next year will have 8 more. Round 3 in 2015 will have 8 more. This is a non issue when the game will be supported for years to come and not forced to buy GOTY or Hyper Turbo editions for $40 a year later. That is how fighting game should be release. November will be coooommmmboooobreakker time!

The way things are going, I guess it should just be a regular full game... and released when it is ready.

I think paying 20€ per so called season would be a really fair price. The fact that it currently does not include a story mode is a big letdown though. Interested in the game nonetheless!

Here is the way I see it.

Whenever I pick up a fighting game, which I have seem to have done quite a bit over the past 2 years, I never really master them. it isnt because I don't want to, it is because you have to learn how to fight with and against so many characters.

I would love to sit down and learn these games and figure out everything, but I have life obligations and I want to play other games.

With only have 8 characters, (including the 2 you will get early next year) it not only gives the developers time to really polish them, but also gives me the player a chance to become very good at Killer Instinct.

Plus its 20 bucks, if it was $60 dollars I could see how this is a problem, but for $20 this is a great deal.

Personally, I don't see a real problem here. You get 6 characters at launch + 2 more characters and story mode added by March for a base price of 20 bucks. 8 Characters isn't a lot, yes. But, it is 20 bucks. I'd understand the complaints if it was 60, or even 40 for just the 8 characters, but that isn't the case. Its a fair 20 bucks, or 40 if you want extra character skins/accessories and the original KI.

I also don't think it is fair to compare this to other fighting games either, especially when the majority of those other games that have more characters initially launched at 50-60 dollars (Blazblue for instance).

If the number of characters really bothers somebody, they are more than welcome to wait until probably November 2014 for a larger roster and then buy it. Anybody else that wants to invest in the game early and get a head start can do so and enjoy it as the game continues to grow.

The only real issue that I see is that the game probably won't be viable for tournaments until after the Season 2 content is released.

When was KI ever underrated?

KI 1 is top 5 for me in the fighting genre. May have a lot to do with nostalgia but I loved it. It was most visually impressive game my young eyes had seen up to that time.

Chief Thunder was my favorite to play with. Young me just thought he looked cool and I liked the mowhawk launch. That said, I was best with Orchid in PvP. She could start a combo high or if a player was blocking high she could start a combo low in spite of the block. Always kept the player guessing. Not the mention her combos could last for days if not broken at the right times.

Primal rage was our favourite snes fighter.
