IGN published an Video explaining why Uncharted 4 was not at Gamescom
Former Naughty Dog artist Gabriel Betancourt explains why the "sweet spot" for game teams is under 200 people and how AAA "factories" kill creativity.
There’s definitely some truth to this. When teams get too large, coordination starts to outweigh creativity—layers of approval, risk aversion, and tight deadlines can turn bold ideas into “safe” ones. Keeping a team under ~200 people sounds ideal for maintaining clear communication and a shared vision. That said, massive AAA projects also come with huge technical demands and expectations, so scaling up isn’t always avoidable. The real challenge is figuring out how to keep that small-team creativity alive inside big studio structures.

The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) is proud to announce that Evan Wells, former Co-President of Naughty Dog and one of the most respected studio leaders in modern game development, will be honored with a prestigious Hall of Fame Award. Wells’ induction will take place at the 29th annual D.I.C.E. Awards on February 12, 2026, at the Aria Resort in Las Vegas. Neil Druckmann, a longtime collaborator from Naughty Dog, will present Wells with his Hall of Fame Award live at the ceremony.
Neil Druckmann, the creative director of The Last of Us, is working on a new, unannounced game at Naughty Dog.
Wait I thought they cancelled a game? Or did they announce another project?

I don't want an Uncharted 4 (which I know isn't a popular opinion) because I think that 3 was a good stopping point before the series gets stale.
I want something new, something like the Last of Us which will make people say, it's not Uncharted but damn I want it.
It was fairly obvious that there wouldn't be a Naughty Dog announcement. Their last 2 games have been announced at the VGAs. I don't expect anything different this time.
Let Naughty Dog catch their breath. We don't want Uncharted to turn into the next Assassin's Creed.
E3 2014
I know it was silly since it was most likely not true but I kind of wished Sony had bought back the rights to Crash Bandicoot and they ended the show with that. It would of been amazing
Anyway hopefully Uncharted 4 will be at the VGA's. Give me Uncharted 4 with a Drake and Elena themed quest to find some treasure (no lost cities this time) which expands on their relationship and the missing gaps from it along with an online mode LIKE Uncharted 2's and I'll be good :)
The Tokyo Game Show is right around the corner. Also, they just aided in sending off the PS3 with style with TLOU, they have earned a break in my book.
Let them take their time, then greatness will grace our screens when they are ready.
