Rayman Legends: Well Worth the Wait

Gi - The award winning Ubisoft team is back with Rayman Legends, the sequel to Rayman Origins. The developer, Ubisoft Montpellier, adds new environments, characters and enemies. It will be the fifth installment in the series and the first Rayman to have an online multiplayer mode. Rayman Legends was originally scheduled to be released in February 2013 as a Wii U exclusive, however, they decided to delay the release in order for it to be multi-platform and not just for the Wii U. The game will be available for the Wii U, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Xbox 360 and PC. The release date is September 3.

A bit too late for some including me.
With my backlog ,school and kick ass games releasing why would i buy in?
Time is limited these days. I guess we will see if the delay paid off.

Nintendo needed this, any way you look at it they got shafted.
Next gen? is right around the corner too.

The only real issues with this game are marketing (there is little to none) and how fractured it is. Between the Wii U and Vita version having unique content, 4 exclusive Wii U costumes, 2 exclusive Vita costumes and 1 DLC costume on both PS3 and 360... they really should have either given the Wii U the best version (since it was originally meant for the Wii U and only stuff that requires the tablet controller) and make all the other versions the same.

have u bin living under a rock or somethin? next gen is already here. it's been here since last year. lol
I thought everyone knew, clearly not.

Isn't this game like 3 games in one ?

Regular levels, bonus/other levels , 40 origins levels.

That is a ton of platforming.

worldwidegaming4668d ago

Next gen is a joke nowadays, its like buying into 4k tv to play games on next gen systems!
By all rights the wii u is next gen but how many professionals bash and call it current gen?
I own just about everything and that game should have came out when they stated.
Its ok, i wil wait for it on the bargin bin. Not hating but also not falling for their stupid judgement call in delaying the game.
In the meanwhile you can buy and enjoy it now.

Little Big Planet, lol. No.

LBP3 and rayman legends are the best here.

Puppeteer is really good. Nobody played it because it came out right before PS4 came out. When I went to pick up Puppeteer from GameStop some people were trading in their old consoles for PS4 preorder.

Will There Ever Be A New Rayman Game?

Ubisoft barely have a leg to stand on lately, so do they need to crack open the vaults and return platforming royalty to glory for some goodwill?

We need Rayman 4, they could make a great platformer game if they wanted. With the open hub levels and the like.

Better than relying on Rabbids and Assassins Creed all the time

Profchaos824d ago

Yeah agree id love a Rayman 2 style 3d platform game over another 2d platformer I know people loved legends but it never gelled with me same as Rayman 1 back in the day on PS it just felt like a average platformer with sonic and Mario offering something better on what was then last gen hardware

Terry_B825d ago

Yes..but I am sure it won't be the Rayman game fans want. Not from the company that is Ubisoft today.

mastershredder824d ago (Edited 824d ago )

Ancel is retired from games. His hoodlum/rabbid team are doing their own thing. It would not be the same if Ubisoft did.

Profchaos824d ago

Probably far more profitable to make low effort Rabbids games aimed at kids over a next Rayman

Chocoburger824d ago

Experience points, skill trees to fill up, level gating, endless menial tasks and side quests, constantly scrounging for resources. Always having to upgrade your gear. A.KA. "The Ubisoft effect".

No thanks, don't ruin Rayman's legacy.

Profchaos824d ago

Sure there will be it'll launch right alongside the next splinter cell
