Sean, developer of Magicite, joins the podcast today. Magicite is an epic 2D RPG game that you can play singleplayer or with your friends. Venture out into randomized instances and get loot and materials to craft new armor and weapons. But be careful, as permadeath is a huge part of the game.
Still in very early development, we get to see how a game is built from the ground up. We pick Sean's brain and try to help him incorporate balance and new ideas in to his game. Most likely, theMulticast ruined everything and didn't help at all. Follow Magicite on IndieDB and be sure to search for the golden penis when released. That was the best idea we gave him, sadly.
Wade Westfall of TheWhyButton writes Magicite is a 2D dungeon crawler that plays like a mixture of Rogue Legacy and Terraria
The Story is a simple one: You've been living underground your whole life and you want to see the sun. thus begins your journey.

Jamie Laike Tsui of Capsule Computers writes:
"Magicite is a rogue like platformer that mixes elements of exploration and survival. Developer SmashGames drew inspiration from Monster Hunter and Spelunky to create a merciless platformer that will challenge players. The game recently left Steam’s Early Access program, but is still being actively updated thanks to funds raised through Kickstarter."

Nathaniel Liles writes: "My first impressions of Magicite were actually extremely positive. I was charmed by the graphics, and the idea of a “go as far as you can then try again” roguelike wasn’t something I was opposed to. I love games like Rogue Legacy, but in Rogue Legacy, every time you fail and start back at the beginning, you have something to show for it."
