OXM UK: "James Hannigan on how technology shapes how your games sound."

"Game Music Connect 2014 is the upcoming second annual international video game music conference for aspiring and professional video game music composers. Created by James Hannigan (Command and Conquer and Harry Potter series) and John Broomhall (Forza Motorsport 5, Transport Tycoon), the conference was established to help those interested in learning about the art of creating cutting edge video game soundtracks through round table discussions, interviews, and practical demonstrations from some of the world’s leading video game composers."

GameCity, the World’s best-loved videogames festival, today announced the details of the hugely anticipated James Hannigan concert and retrospective, part of the upcoming festival, GameCity5, running from October 26-30th. The concert will take place in St Mary’s Church, Lace Street on Thursday 28th October, starting at 7:30pm.
Good composer, did freelancer, a lot of red alert 3 (soviet march etc.), cnc4, lord of the rings, evil genius, etc. and not just harry potter. Cool.
First step in improving sound quality...
Put higher quality sound files in the damn game. And make the effort to record with better equipment and with a wider variety of subjects / objects.
Was it confirmed if both this and PS4 will support 7.1 sound for games this time and not just movies?
This is actually one of new console aspects I'm looking forward too. Sound design... Forza 5 is shaping up to be greatest racer ever. I can't believe we are getting this title at launch...November couldn't come fast enough...
Best example of this generation that concerns audio/sound design -
- NaughtyDog with The Last of Us actually building a sound mode specifically made for the game that can be downloaded through the P.E.M. for all Sony Pulse Elite owners.
Now that's commitment to your fans.
