TGR take a look at both next gen offerings and ask the question: is there really all that much between them?

All available May 5.
I think the only game here for me is Nine Sols. Was always interested in that game.
Good month for me, I wanted that particular footy game and thought it might be due. Anyway who cares, shame about the site I'll miss the comment sections. All the best everyone.
Naughty Dog was reportedly divided on the controversial fate of Joel in The Last of Us Part 2 during the game's development.
I think it was good decision, if he was still alive, he would have been a mascot just like Kratos, drake and many others. These old dudes gotta die for new characters to take center stage with their own storyline. They keep dragging the emotional baggage into many sequels and eventually the story just turns into absolute shit show.
Honestly as much as I loved the game, they could have just not killed him off.
I get it creator vision and all but killing a character that made you millions is just wrong imo. At least have him go down fighting.

Square Enix launches Final Fantasy X 25th anniversary site, revealing new Nomura art, books, music releases, and merchandise.
Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.
They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.
They forgot to mention the most important factor that many people seem fine to disregard. At less a few people from a certain group.
And that factor is of course past history.
If I was getting an X1, sure I'd have great fun initially with the launch line up, but after that I'd be very worried is MS was going to keep satisfying my core gaming needs. It's honestly extremely embarrassing how little MS has supported the 360 in the last few years.
People like to keep reminding me MS is investing 1 bil in games, to which I reply, how many years are you planning to keep your console?
I have this crazy, wild idea that when I buy a console that it will be supported for the whole generation. I know that's a little of a mind f*ck for some people, but that's what I believe. I find it very sad that other people have much lower standards.
Sony has gone above and beyond in regards to releasing quality exclusives and new IPs right through out the whole generation and I don't have a single fear with getting a PS4 to whether the games are going to keep getting released.
So I'll be going with the company that's for the gamers and has a genuine passion for the games industry.
Not much, if you translate it to the way games will eventually look on both platforms.
Problem is that people are measuring the differences in %, which makes it seem like theres a big gap, however to make a difference in computing you need to at least have the double amount of transistors in it.
The specs of x1 and ps4 are eightfold that of current gen, they needed to do that to make enough of a difference.
The difference between the x1 and ps4 are nitpicking at best.
Well dice says battlefield 4 runs better on the Xbox one.

Frostbite 3 Supports DirectX 11.1 API – Faster GPU/CPU Performance on PCs and Xbox One
Now this is the interesting bit, DICE confirms that the Frostbite 3 engine supports DirectX 11.1 API as revealed by DSOGaming.
“We use DX11.1, there are some optimizations in it (constant buffer offsets, dynamic buffers as SRVs) that we got in to the the API that improves CPU performance in our rendering when one runs with DX11.1. This will be in BF4.”
This means that PC and Xbox One versions of Battlefield 4 would be more optimized than PlayStation 4. There’s also a hint at AMD’s Next “Never Settle Bundle” featuring Battlefield 4 as a free title which is a good deal for AMD users.
The difference is that just in 2013 ALONE PS3 had/will have close to 6-7 blockbuster AAA exclusive titles (among others as well, just not as "blockbuster-y", like Dragon's Crown) , whereas 360 is trying to remember what the word "exclusive" actually means.
What does that have to do with PS4 and X1 you ask?
Simple.
Sony has a long history of investing in a family of exclusive studios and has a history of supporting their products amazingly well even after 7 years.
M$ on the other hand writes checks to impress people in the first 2-3 years and then just doesnt give 2 shits about core gamers. That is why former 360 exclusives (bioshock Mass effect a shit ton of JRPGs) eventually came to PS3 as well.
History will repeat itself. If people believe crapcom is going to stay exclusive or that EA is also going to be releasing games exclusively for X1, they are in for a huge disappointment...
SONY is still expanding its exclusive studios, there are so many teams already working on PS4 exclusives that are not even announced yet and you know that they will continue to bring quality exclusives even after 6 years.
If you are a gamer and you cant see the difference in that, then... hell... nothing can help you.
Main differences are their 1st and 2nd party devs, the price and the fact that Sony didn´t try to screw us over.
