Push Square: "Publishers don’t want you to sell your games, and they’ll do almost anything to stop you. For primarily single player focused releases like God of War: Ascension and Tomb Raider, that means implementing online multiplayer in the hope of extending the title’s lifespan beyond its comparatively slender single player campaign. But with the competitive scene dominated by a select few franchises – Call of Duty, Battlefield, and FIFA to name three juggernauts – is it all just a waste of time, money, and effort?"

FuRuy has opened a Twitter account called “Project Alice” teasing a new game announcement on April 25 at 20:30 JST.

New report from Skillsearch found that 22% of those surveyed had been laid off within the past 12 months.

It's a step forward for Stop Killing Games.
For the most part for me, no. Usually, single player tailored games don't normally have good mp experiences as they feel tacked on. If the mp diminishes the game package, then I say don't include a mp portion unless it's up there in terms of quality with the sp experience. Of course, exceptions do exist (uncharted, halo, etc.)
No. A singleplayer focused game does not need multiplayer. But there are some singleplayer games that are just begging for a co-op mode. Like dark souls,Elder scrolls, pokemon and assassins creed.
And then there are games that should just be single player like Alan Wake,Bioshock,Mirrors Edge or Heavy Rain.
No it doesn't but it can be a great addition if done right.
Not all the time. A big example of this is Spec ops the line. Fantastic single player but the multiplayer was a bit generic. It also didn't fit in with the story's themes and general feel. It wasn't needed. It can be done correctly (like The Last of Us) but most single player focused stories get tacked on multiplayer.
No they do not, Just look at Bioshock Infinite
