(NBC News) – Say the word “Minecraft” among a group of parents with young children and you’re pretty much guaranteed to hear how their kids are “addicted” to it, with some referring to it as “Mine-crack”.

This is very true, my nephews grew up on these two games and whenever I introduce them a AAA game whether old or new, it's like seeing an alien try to make sense of it and then quickly lose interest in it.

Gaming trends are so weird to me now. Like, I’m old school and games were consumed essentially how movies were. You play through a title and look forward to the sequel or other things that came out. Now, that is so not the norm.

Parenting is going downhill quick, this new generation of kids will be the next "zombies", all day in front of a screen.
I remember my parents "asking me nicely" to turn off my SNES, and hiding the power cord until my homework was ready.
Now parents use electronic devices as "nannies" because they are also busy in front of the TV all day, and as soon as the kid is distracted at school or something, they get loaded with ADD meds
oh who cares. When I was a kid I spent hours and hours playing with legos. This is lego for the younger generation but with more ability to create things. I personally don't like to play Minecraft because it's an enormous time sink, but I can see why kids do.
Mindcraft.. that's what I thought it was called when I first heard of it back in 2011.
My bro (3) saw me playing minecraft and he loves building stuff. It's good for kids. Keeps creativity up.
