CCC says: "The Xbox One has become a mascot for reversed decisions ever since E3. First, Microsoft reverses its decision about used games and always-on Internet connections. Now, it is reversing its decision about letting indie developers self-publish on their platform."

Square Enix launches Final Fantasy X 25th anniversary site, revealing new Nomura art, books, music releases, and merchandise.
Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.
They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

LucasArts gave Jango Fett his own game in 2002, and it pulled Star Wars into a much dirtier, rougher, and more interesting corner of the galaxy.

Dear team,
Xbox has always been different.
We started with a simple idea. Games should bring people together through shared experiences. That led to the first Xbox in 2001, Xbox Live in 2002, and new ways to connect, from friends lists and achievements to parties and play across devices. Today, Xbox reaches over 500 million players around the world, with some of the most important franchises in entertainment.
If they go back to exclusive games it at least shows that they are finally getting it. They would be turning down immediate money for something that will potentially workout in the long term.
Only issue is they've already opened Pandora's box. A lot of their base has moved to PC or jumped to PS. So will be a long road to get back on track.
We have been saying this from day one exclusives are a must if you are going to be selling hardware look at Nintendo and Sony before Jim Ryan. That's the proven formula. You had some that were deluded and blinded by loyalty accepting that multiplat was the future and that MS was merely getting ahead of where the industry was headed, but at least they can finally see the light and agree with what everyone has been saying for a decade+
Despite all of that, it's clear that Microsoft's Xbox division is broken beyond repair.
I'm surprised MS didn't always have this stance since they come from PC background.
I don't think indies are suddenly going to jump on the bandwagon (especially considering that these policies aren't even available until some time after launch).

It shows that plenty of indie devs are still a bit leery based on bad past experiences with Microsoft. We'll have to see what happens.
Self-publishing is a step in the right direction. Microsoft was smart to follow what Steam, Sony, and Nintendo have been doing. But simply allowing for self-publishing isn't going to erase MS's bad reputation with indies, nor does it mean they're supporting indies better than the competition.
I think this self publishing has more to do with MS trying to match sony feature for feature...they wanna go HEAD TO HEAD with sony this gen...sony says no drm then MS says no drm...sony says indie self publishing then MS says indie self publishing...they dont want little stuff like that stand in their way of beating sonys ass.....
Sony has been playing more on what the xbox one does (DRM..RESTRICTIONS. .NO SELF PUBLISHING) than what the PS4 does....trying to use that ti their advantage. ..but as MS take away those once advantages sony isn't gonna have anything to show but the systems features...an feature for feature I like the Xbox ones offerings much better...
I must say as a ps4 fan and I have no intention of ever getting a Xbox 1 but turning around all your stupid ass policys and giving people and devs what they want is a good thing. The battle will be much more interesting and us sony fans must realize M$ will not go down (ever) without a fight.
This is a battle and M$ wants to win. Of course being equal with sony is not what you want you want to be better. This is gonna be very interesting battle. Im sure if XB1 was like 200 bucks id get it but for me its ps4 and wii u only for me this gen.
