I am so hyped for this game! I'm happy that the characters shown thus far play differently as well.

Can't wait to see more returning characters and some of the new characters they're going to introduce.

i dont understand why this game was booed at EVO. sure its made by double helix, they dont have the best reputation when it comes to their games. I wished that Rare took charge, but Rare is pretty non-existent these days and so its developers.

But so far, this game is looking pretty good and it seems it could live up to its roots, and its a launch title for the XB1. Im opting in for PS4 first before i get a XB1 before then. but this is one game i wished i would get if it came out on PS4, especially since this game is very reminiscent of my childhood.

From what I gathered they booed when they mentioned the X1 and not DH or Killer Instinct. Either way it was immature on the audience part.

Urusernamesucks4683d ago

I agree it was pretty immature of the Audience, regarding how much work both dh and ms put on Bringing this game back.

QuickdrawMcgraw4683d ago

If people were not happy with MS why would it be immature to boo when MS was mentioned?

Ken Lobb is the creative director of Microsoft Games Studios and was the Game Designer of the original Killer Instinct. Since he is working on the reboot, then all worries for me have been squashed. The game is going to be excellent.

Im actually not into 2d fighters too much; I'm more partial to the 3d fighters like Tekken and Virtua Fighter. But this new KI has got me seriously impressed and I can't wait to try it out

yeah they were such good and fun games but they never really reached the mainstream audience. Killer Instinct was widely known and respected.

Killer instinct is great, especially on snes but it’s not the most underrated fighter.. for me it’s Power Stone. So much potential in this series

Bloody Roar was a game that had a sick concept but wasn’t made the best. I’d say Killer Instinct was the opposite of that, it was well made but the roster of characters were so similar to every other fighting game in that era that it ended up feeling like more of the same. I could be wrong that’s just how I remember it at the time and I played a ton of KI on SNES because it was one of the first games I owned.

I loved this game in the arcade, my main was Jago, Ultra Combo!!! https://www.youtube.com/wat...

DivineHand125392d ago

That combo was way overkill 😂

PRIMORDUS392d ago

I know haha, I loved Jago.

Bathyj393d ago

You're kidding?
It enjoyed probably more success than it deserved.
Unlike Tobal 2

MeteorPanda392d ago

Tobal 2 was awesome. Sold really well cause art similarity to dragon ball

jjb1981393d ago

I remember trying my hardest to learn that "Ultra... Ultra.... Ultra...." finish. Such a great fighting game.

Popsicle392d ago (Edited 392d ago )

I can tell you definitely got some SNES time in. The slight differences in the ports due to hardware constraints were interesting. For example, the arcade version was Ultraaaa Coooommboooooooo! versus Ultra….Ultra….Ultra on the SNES.

Though SNES overachieved as a port for as demanding as a game KI was.The arcade version was one of the first cabinets with a dedicated hard drive and the SNES version was 32 megabyte cartridge which was huge for that system at the time.

jjb1981391d ago

Yeah, for sure. My local childhood arcade was always packed and it was hard to get a game in but once the SNES version came out, I was hooked. I can still feel the click of the power button.

I'll have to get this! Been a big fan of KI since the very first one.

Petebloodyonion901d ago (Edited 901d ago )

I love KI (still play the old arcade version) but feel like the Xbox version is like a big intimidating chessboard with no easy way to instruct you to play chess.
The game is so deep in terms of little things to do that it makes Smash Bros melee look like a casual experience.
Honestly, doing a combo Breaker is punish/reward by itself but hey you can add a counterbreaker.
Here's what you also need to know
Breaking Shadow-linker
Instincts
Shadow counter
Auto double,
linker, manual
ender
etc,

There isn't going to be any chance of this being played at tournaments unless it appears on all platforms like all fighting games.

SPEAKxTHExTRUTH905d ago

SF5 didn’t appear on all consoles and was still played at Tournaments. I’ve seen KI tournaments recently so I don’t think your opinion is accurate.
