Virtual Console Releases for April 7, 2008

The Virtual Console will be getting two classic Nintendo (NES) games on Monday. The first will be Yoshi's Cookie, which was a puzzle game in which you had to make lines of matching cookies to score points. The other is Bases Loaded which many should know as one of the best baseball titles of all time.

Appreciating Nintendo puzzle games' accessibility

There is something about a good puzzle game. They tend to be one of the most welcoming genres, with easy to understand concepts, difficulty that can grow with players and matches that may be brief or even endless. Well crafted ones are accessible, which is great. When it comes to Nintendo, some of the puzzle games it has created and published go a step further. While not all of their games accommodate people who might be colorblind, quite a few do.

Bases Loaded for PS4 delayed to spring 2016 in Japan

The PlayStation 4 Bases Loaded game, known as Moero!! Pro Yakyuu in Japan, will launch in the country in spring 2016, Mebius and Clarice Games announced. It was previously planned for a winter release.

Full details about the game have not yet been announced, but Bases Loaded will use the same pixelated style as its 1987 predecessor.
