CBS Interactive Games Exec David Rice Sees 'Great Potential' For ESports On TV

CBS Interactive Games has been busy these days in the burgeoning world of eSports. GameSpot will provide exclusive live stream coverage of the upcoming EA Sports Challenge Series Finals from Las Vegas on February 9. This Virgin Gaming event, which will be played on PlayStation 3 consoles, will award more than $1 million to the best Madden, FIFA and NHL pro gamers from across the globe. Fans can tune in to the event live from Lagasse’s Stadium on GameSpot.com or TwitcTV.

GameSpot is also putting an MTV twist to eSports with the new Web reality series, GameCribs, which will launch February 20th and run every Wednesday through June 14th. GameSpot has partnered with Qualcomm and pro gaming team TSM Snapdragon for this series, which will be set in their San Francisco Bay Area Game House.
