They were great games with fantastic fun, comedy elements. The newer side scrolling ones were alright but felt samey after a while, especially when you have games like New Super Mario Bros, Kirby, Yoshi etc doing the same thing.

After the Rayman nonsense and potentially cancelling BGaE2, it really wouldn't surprise me.
Build an entirely new series and have it cancelled after years of development or move on to something new? Sometimes you just have to take a stand.
I think he is joining Nintendo ? or why would he talk wiiu up so much and also that protest that was his love for the wiiu console,and him expressing that the wiiu deserves this game now attitude makes me think he loves Nintendo at the present.
Developers have it rough sometimes.. Big name publishers put time limits & resource caps on all your projects... I know ive read articles about companies like EA making developers want to quit because of the way they force em to do things in a short time frame.. Then the publishers fire the development teams for releasing a 1/2 assed project.. Id rather wait for a fully polished & completed game than receive a buggy game with potential but is mediocre in the end..
I could see this guy leaving and forming his own studio. I can easily see him getting work as a second party developer. Nintendo, Sony, or Microsoft would be crazy not to cut a deal with this guy. I would love to see him get to make a game of his choosing with full control over the IP.
Ubisoft is too busy milking things when they have great games like Beyond Good and Evil to release.....
Keep in mind, this is a business. I'm not condoning them putting so much focus on AC and Rabbids, but unfortunately those are the games that make them money. From what I remember, Beyond Good & Evil did not make a whole lot of money, so Ubisoft is waiting for a cult following to make a potential sequel more profitable. And unfortunately in this business the only way to keep rolling is to make money.
Unfortunately, they've waited so long that I'm not sure said following would even care at this point without the right kind of hype. They've dilly-dallied around it so much that many have lost faith that the game will even see the light of day.
The HD re-release was the chance for the fans to show how much they were willing to spend on a game and my guess is that is fell short. I suppose that's a fair enough reason for cancelling a game that's already taken hundreds of years of man hours and millions of dollars.
According to them, its not cancelled. It's going to be released for next generation consoles, and WiiU.
They just won't put the proper teams to it, and thats my problem. They let a very small team work on the game, and then constantly tear the team apart and shrink it, so its taking way too long.
You don't get games like Assassins creed without taking risks to make it in the first place. A good game with good marketing will sell perfectly fine. They even had games like Rainbow Six that did have good sales, but they left those behind too.
And the "milking" is destroying their strong franchises.
