Maybe a few of the ones from Razr, Madcatz? I always say try before you buy. Comfort is a big deal

I'm a huge fan of Sennheiser headsets. They don't have the glitz of other headsets like Turtle Beach or Astro's - but they focus on sound quality and function.

My PC360's coupled with an Asus Xonar DGX sound card are perfect for me at the moment.

The important questions for choosing headsets are:

Do you want on ear, or over ear
Open back or closed design
USB and / or 3.5mm jack
Surround sound or stereo
System compatibility

For me it was important to have over the the ear because I find on the ear headsets uncomfortable and hot.

I went for open back as the sound quality is better than closed, and they are cooler to wear over long periods, but the downside is external noise can get in (which I prefer), and people around you can hear what you hear. (if you go to LAN parties or game in very noisy places - do not get open back).

I didn't want surround sound from the headset, as in my experience a dedicated sound card does better than what I've heard from Astro or any other manufacturer. So in FPS games I use the Xonar for surround sound, and in most other games I turn it off as it does distort / lower sound quality. (This was why I went for the PC360's plus a Xonar, rather than the PC363D's with 7.1)

I didn't care about using the headset with anything other than Mac or PC, so ensuring it would work with PS3 / 360 were not a concern.

The nice things about the PC360's are they are extremely comfortable and don't get hot over prolonged use. They have a volume control on the right ear piece instead of in-line module. The mic is very high quality for a headset boom arm type, and can be muted by simply raising it.

I've used the cheapest Sennheiser headsets and they are all good - you just get what you pay for.
