When Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) introduced the Xbox One, the features it touted seemed completely misaligned with its core gamer customers. Sony (NYSE: SNE), however, struck hard and aimed its new PlayStation 4 squarely at hard-core gamers. Microsoft is already in catch-up mode.

I think the only game here for me is Nine Sols. Was always interested in that game.
Good month for me, I wanted that particular footy game and thought it might be due. Anyway who cares, shame about the site I'll miss the comment sections. All the best everyone.
Naughty Dog was reportedly divided on the controversial fate of Joel in The Last of Us Part 2 during the game's development.
I think it was good decision, if he was still alive, he would have been a mascot just like Kratos, drake and many others. These old dudes gotta die for new characters to take center stage with their own storyline. They keep dragging the emotional baggage into many sequels and eventually the story just turns into absolute shit show.
Honestly as much as I loved the game, they could have just not killed him off.
I get it creator vision and all but killing a character that made you millions is just wrong imo. At least have him go down fighting.

Square Enix launches Final Fantasy X 25th anniversary site, revealing new Nomura art, books, music releases, and merchandise.
Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.
They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.
Oh, and it will be for the entirety of the eighth generation of consoles.
Your first impression is your lasting one, and Microsoft's first impression was one that was completely hostile and indifferent to the gamer.
"While Microsoft can handle a few hard knocks, the wounds it is licking right now are self inflicted. That could be good for long-term investors willing to look past the near-term problems.
However, coupled with the “start” button issue, it is starting to look like Microsoft isn't reading its customers very well."
This could've all been avoided by focusing on gaming first, and all other aspects second. Well that and not treating gamers like convicts. Furthermore, the fact that this thing is $100 more and weaker than the PS4 is obviously a glaring difference that the author didn't know about or decided to omit. It will be interesting to say the least, to see how MS combats these problems going forward.
The writer's opening argument "Xbox One Is Already Playing Catch-Up" is not supported within the context of his article.
There is NOTHING within the article that remotely indicates MS is playing "catch-up". All the writer does is point out the issues with MS's PR and MS's initial pre and post policies. This is NOT playing "catch up" in any means.
Playing catch up in terms of consoles is directly implied to what each company is trying to offer the consumer with features for the product that the other competitor has yet to see the benefits of having are.
ie. Sony was playing catch up with their online services competing against XBL. Now, we see Sony with many of the same features going into next gen as well as a paid subscription to play online.
As far as I can see, going into next gen, the PS4 isn't bringing any kind of features that set's itself apart from Nintendo's WiiU or MS's XB1.
Granted the PS4 may be the strongest of the 3 on paper, but when we look at what MS is trying to do going into next gen....it's clear it's MS that is spearheading the future. MS's strong push for cloud computing is unrivaled in terms of dev support. XB1 is now going to be partnered with your cable box eliminating the multiple amount of remotes on your tv room table and changing the way you use your TV WHICH is the most used entertainment device in the home. I know I use my TV 100% of the time when either watching TV or gaming. I am also watching TV 80% MORE then I am gaming since there is more then 1 person that lives in my home.
This article is just another anti-MS article. Just another wash rinse and repeat. Yawn, when will actual gaming journalism grow up?
