Warframe dev praises PS4 tech, says DualShock 4 is best controller yet

Warframe developer Digital Extremes is bringing its free-to-play ninja shooter to PS4 at launch, and in an interview with VG247, has discussed the console’s technical power and PC-like architecture. The studio also championed the DualShock 4 controller as the best console pad they’ve ever held.

Warframe on Ps4 is pretty awesome. I played this game and I can't believe they made the porting in few months ...
Can't wait to play this game!

Also Battlefield 4 dev praises the PS4 controller:

I need to get my hands on that controller!

Software_Lover4698d ago

WTF else is he supposed to say. That would be like 343 saying the XBone is the best.

GribbleGrunger4698d ago (Edited 4698d ago )

He could choose to say something different. Being specific usual means it's genuine.

Tony-Red-Grave4698d ago

Also one must remember these are PC devs. It's a different box of chocolates when dev who normally works on PC praises a console, specificly it's controller.

PS4 controller looks better than Xbox One's. Although I'd prefer the left stick to be higher than the right stick, the controller looks better and the sticks look like they will be easier to control.

nice to see this game finally made it. Hopefully it looks and runs smooth.

TGG_overlord50d ago

Very much so, and I sure hope so. I do recall that people pointed that out for System Shock as well (I think that problem has been solved now).

DivineHand12549d ago

I just downloaded it on my phone a few weeks ago and the framerate isn't bad if you set it to 60hz. I suspect the switch 2 version should fair better interms of performance.

TGG_overlord49d ago

From what I've seen so far, it runs pretty smoth on the Switch 2.

BISHOP-BRASIL49d ago

It's originally a game released in 2013, obviously a lot has been changed since, but still the base code for this game was in development before at least 2011, which means that thing was probably going to run on PS3 and XB360 with a few tweaks, Digital Extremes just chose to skip into next gen... Someone would have had to majorly fuck up for the Switch 2 not to run Warframe smoothly, a game with 15 year old mid power target specs! It's a very light and optimized game by now anyway, it famously runs well on relatively old notebooks with CPU integrated graphics... Hell, even the mobile version manages to not run like ass.

TGG_overlord49d ago

That is true, so there should be no problems like you said, unless someone has messed-up really badly.

1nsomniac49d ago

Haven’t played this since it launched on ps4. Surprised it’s still even a thing.

DivineHand12549d ago

The game has received many quality of life updates since the PS4 days and receives content drops several times per year. The best part is that it is not pay to win.

It is a great way to unwind, but you will need to be active in the community to play this game. Most of the mechanics are explained by youtubers, forum posts and wiki pages.

TGG_overlord49d ago

Exactly. And nope, it was never a P2W title, and from what I understand, it will remain that way as well.

TGG_overlord49d ago

The updates and community keeps the game going.
