Game Informer - I’ve spent plenty of time in expansive worlds like Azeroth, Hyrule, and Final Fantasy VII’s Gaia, but games like World of Warcraft and The Legend of Zelda series come with an expected, lengthy time commitment. The original PlayStation Resident Evil games can be beaten in considerably less time, assuming you save responsibly and know where you’re going. Despite this, I managed to log as many hours in Resident Evil 2’s Raccoon City as many gamers pour into lengthy RPGs. So why return to a horrific zombie outbreak again and again? Let me tell you.

Capcom has announced and released the original Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 on Steam.

Capcom recently released Resident Evil Requiem, and it's been so successful that it's seemingly dragging along every other Resi game with it.
That's certainly true in the UK; the latest physical retail charts have come in, and the top 10 includes five Resident Evil games across all platforms.

This month, unleash brutal finishers in the reimagined Mortal Kombat 1, swing through Marvel’s New York skyline as the iconic web-slinger in Marvel’s Spider-Man, or gear up to repel swarming alien forces in Earth Defense Force 6. All these titles and more are available in August’s PlayStation Plus Game Catalog lineup. That includes Sword of the Sea, which releases day one into Game Catalog. Meanwhile, Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis bring retro survival horror to PlayStation Plus Premium. All titles will be available to play on August 19*.
Nice timing!
I'm writing a retrospective of RE1 on my website right now!
I was also playing this on my plane yesterday on my Vita; it's an incredible game! I just love it.
The good old days.
I still remember the many hours spent in RE2, playing different scenarios to unlock 4th survivor, extreme battle, Tofu. Running away from MR. X.
I still remember the time when he burst out of the walls,
He scared the shit out of me.
Good article, it reminds you of RE golden age.
