Edge:Levels are claustrophobic, consisting exclusively of narrow tunnels and more open areas filled with human detritus. As such, exploration feels clumsy and laboured, and it’s all too easy to be overwhelmed by a swarm, bumped from wasp to ant and back, stun lock preventing you from firing again as your health bar steadily depletes. We didn’t expect high art, but criminally, Bugs vs. Tanks doesn’t even offer low-budget thrills.
"I’m not really sure what intrigued me so much about Bugs vs. Tanks. Perhaps it’s my real-life fear of bugs and the added satisfaction of blasting them to pieces with a tiny virtual tank. Whatever the case, the game is passable, but it hasn’t aged terribly well," writes Cliff at Game Freaks 365.

BUGS vs TANKS! is a top-down action game from Level-5 and Comcept. You best know Comcept as the studio recently formed by Keiji Inafune, the creator of Dead Rising, Mega Man, and other great games from Capcom. BvT! is the second game in the GUILD02 trilogy of experimental games proceeded by last month's The Starship Damrey. The trilogy itself is the second after last year's GUILD01 was released for the Nintendo 3DS. BvT!'s title is self-explanatory, much like PopCap's Plants vs. Zombies games, as you play as a tank well, fighting bugs. Unlike PvZ, BvT! is very much a strategic action game as opposed to a strategic tower defense game.
