While it must have seemed totally revelatory when it first came out, he probably didn't encounter it until well after more complicated and more colorful games, like Defender, were already out there. But he always found himself totally drawn to the actual design of the invaders themselves.

Now, a decade later and with Space Invaders hitting its 40th anniversary, Space Invaders Extreme has been revived on PC. It’s roughly based on the Xbox 360 version but with a some major tweaks and quality-of-life enhancements.
