Game Informer - Some longtime gamers may have memories of the Tecmo's Deception series, but not many recall its Playstation 2 entry Trapt. When Reiner showed me the box and told me it would be a good Super Replay candidate, I honestly had no idea what it was. In 1996, the PlayStation became the breeding ground for a sadistic new strategy game. Named Tecmo’s Deception, the game featured crudely rendered traps and torture inflicted upon unsuspecting entrants into the Castle of the Damned. Something about this polygonal violence struck a chord with gamers as it quickly became a series. Kagero: Deception II and Deception III: Dark Delusion both followed on PS1, while Trapt came a few years later on PS2. After that, the Deception series went silent — until Tecmo Koei revealed a new entry was coming.

I loved these games back in the day, I forgot all about them till this game was announced. Been a long frickin' time since I played one of these games.

'Trapt' Re-Release May be Headed to the PS3 Store

8CN: An ESRB rating has appeared for a re-release of Trapt, the fourth entry in the Deception series. According to the listing, it will be arriving on the PlayStation Store as a "PS2 Classic."
