EDGE: "A game that has fantastic graphics and not-so-great gameplay cannot be trusted. Functional visuals combined with well-crafted gameplay cast a game as the underdog, and you know where you are with something that’s irredeemably terrible on every level – an honest, unpretentious game that knows its place.
But if a game is as elegant as it is infuriating? It’s somehow underhand. Deceptive. It cruises into your affections on the strength of its looks, gradually wearing down your goodwill until you’ve got nothing to do except part ways, lighter in the pocket and heavier in the heart.
There’s not much that typifies this more than Mirror’s Edge."

Former Visceral Games devs reveal Dead Space's marketing budget was cut in favor of Mirror's Edge because of mock review scores.
I wish EA would just release a DS2 remake. DS is my favorite horror game and DS2 is the best one in the franchise. But because DS1 failed to meet certain numbers EA scrapped the DS2 remake. SH2 remake was great rumors are Konami might be asking for another SH remake. The RE2 remake was great EA just needs to give it another try. But all they seem to do is shitty sports games that are no different from the year before. Change a few players, add different uniform colours, maybe change a team logo. Wash, rinse, repeat.
I bought Dead Space during launch window and I never bought a Mirror's Edge game .

It seems that in Season 4, DICE has snuck in a Battlefield 2042 Mirror's Edge Easter egg in the new Flashpoint map.

GF365: "There are some games with extraordinary visuals that impress us to this day. Here are old games with outstanding graphics."
I always thought the first 3 Gears of War games looked great and still hold up for today.
Far Cry 2 was awesome. In addition to having demonstrably better physics and AI than later games in the series, it had a lot of design decisions that, criticized at the time, have since been praised in games like BOTW and Dark Souls.
It might not be super amazing by today's standard but I thought Mgs3 looked really good
The second Mirrors Edge is going to kick ass.
I do not agree with the opinion of the writer. Mirror's Edge has challenging realistic freerun gameplay that let's you figure out the routes yourself (be it within certain inevitable progression). I loved the learning curve and the precise timing/speed that was needed to make certain climbs or jumps possible. It reminds me of the challenge oldschool arcades have were timing/skills had to learned/memorized. I think the gameplay is exceptional and shows not all gameplay has to be accessible/straightforward to make it good. Besides the beautiful art/atmosphere/music the toughness of the gameplay showed an element of the world nobody mentioned: beneath the beautiful shiny city is a cold ruthless world...the combination of the two made this game so special and loved. Once you learned the not so accessible gameplay and levels you learned to appreciate the beauty of this, more than other games were things are instantly comprehended & accessible. I see no faults in the game except for being to short, in other words i thought the game was perfect/immersive/engaging and i hope Mirror's Edge retains it's unique gameplay & vibe(i love the game for it). Anyhow I will buy Mirror's Edge 2 day 1! Looking forward to it!
This was a game I had passed up on a long time ago. But after the sequel announcement and all the positive comments on here, I found a copy at Gamestop for $11.50. The cheapest price I could find by at least $5.
Last night I got through the prologue and the first 3 chapters. And I gotta say, its pretty damn fun. I've had my fair share of falls already. Timing is key, and unforgiving if off.
But I just love the simpleness of it. You just flow from one end to the other, with multiple paths. My favorite thing is the fact that its in 1st person. Assassins Creed has good free running, but nothing compares to seeing it through your own eyes.
I can see why so many people cried out for a sequel to this game.
Terrible & boring game about running away from people, doesn't need a sequel.
LOL at "the fantastic graphics of Mirrors Edge".
It's still my favorite game this gen, and nothing else really comes close. I NEVER get tired of it.
