Infinite Crisis E3 Interview | Gamereactor UK

At E3 GRTV talked with the creative director for Infinite Crisis, Cardell Kerr, who had plenty to tell us about the latest map to land for the DC-flavoured MOBA title which is still in beta.

"Our goal has always been to double-down on our destructive PvP system," Kerr told us. "So one of the things you're going to see in Gotham Heights [the first map released for Infinite Crisis], you'll see a lot of vehicles and a lot of explosions, a lot of catastrophic events."

"What would be cooler than that from my point of view is not just having a catastrophic event happen, but having the players themselves wield one as a weapon and using it against the other team. Really that's what makes the epicentre of what makes Coast City [the new map revealed at E3] such a very distinct map, is that you'll be fighting over something called the Doomsday Device, and each time you use it does horrible things to both your opponents, and the map itself."

Why Did Infinite Crisis Fail?

One of the more interesting features of mmo games is that, just like a living person, they go through a life cycle. In the beginning, there's the development and testing phases. Then the game springs into the world to make its mark. After a number of years, the game begins to fade as the player population dwindles. Finally, there's the final end when the game shuts down. Normally such a journey takes quite a few years, normally a decade, to go through this cycle, but such was not the case with Infinite Crisis. The DC comics-themed moba recently let their players know that the game was shutting down in August despite the fact that the moba just officially launched roughly two months ago. Why did Infinite Crisis fail?
