Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima has recently shot down a rumor stating that he is searching for a studio that would be willing to remake the 1998 classic Metal Gear Solid. Whether or not a second MGS remake will be in the works, it raises the important questions of if and when a remake for a game is necessary.
It's important in life to maintain a broad palette when it comes to culture and the arts. Hideo Kojima agrees, as he continues to use video games like Death Stranding to introduce people to music and other elements they might not otherwise discover.
Today, Konami announced its financial results for the first nine months of fiscal year 2026, between April 2025 and December 2025.
What happens when you make good games, keep it up konami, you've been doing great. Please do a AAA Castlevania too, or heck just start off remaking/remastering old games to play it safe.
Bought both Castlevania Advance Collection and the Dominus Collection. I would absolutely love to have all the GBA games as well, and of course Symphony of the Night.
What I would really love though, is a true next gen sequel to SotN.

Ironic. Also I guess the whole "fk Konami" phase is over now that they're selling remakes of already great games. People are easy to please, just rattle pretty graphics them.
i mean, silent hill f is a brand new game and it sold better then silent hill 2 remake.

Remakes would introduce new people to the series, but I think if someone is wantin to play the first Metal Gear Solid, they will regardless of how it looks.
I can understand why some people want remakes, but it's not like the original games are unplayable. The only games that could use a retcon/remake would be Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2, both of which are pretty difficult even for retro gamers.
I really like the gameplay of the old MGS games. I replayed MGS1 a few months ago and the gameplay holds up remarkable well (despite a few quirks).
The original metal gear 1 and 2 could definitely benefit from a remake.
