SOE's MMOFPS PlanetSide 2 is an open-world sandbox and a player-driven warfare. Now the developer is going to add player-generated missions to the game to enhance player interaction. The idea is, according to SOE, to give players (with appropriate command certs) the ability to create mission hotspots on the map that can be viewed by their entire Empire. This feature is planned for the August development roadmap.
Planetside 2’s future is uncertain as the IP was sold for a relatively low sum to a company with no history.

PlanetSide 2 is going to be getting its next major expansion this December. This new addition, titled “Expedition: Oshur” will be the first addition in almost seven years to bring an entirely new continent to the game.
