The Dead Rising franchise was fun because the series didn’t take itself too seriously. Much like the Saints Row series, the wackiness of the game appealed to fans and made it stand out from all of the serious looking shooter games out there. However once Dead Rising 3 was revealed, it seems like the humor is now gone.
Dead Rising 3 has sold over 5 million copies, making it the top-selling game in the series despite being exclusive to Xbox One and PC.
This really needs a re-release. Enjoyed all 4 games with 3 probably being my second favourite.
It's 2013! I'm on my Xbox One and streaming from my laptop to my chromecast! Life couldn't be better!
Now I can stream my Xbox One from my TV to my phone to my tablet while I'm inside my refrigerator.
Surprised this didn't get a Series S/X boost. I believe it's still locked to 30fps. Then again so is the PC version until you go into the .ini file and change it.

Over the last week, Jake has been going back to the Dead Rising 2 Off The Record remaster and has been an absolute blast. When he was 15 he first got his Xbox 360 and Dead Rising with it, it was unlike any other experience. It made him wonder though, what happened to the Dead Rising series.

Ah no, I just felt like writing it as I started playing the game again and wanted to offer up my opinions 😁
Seems like there was just a ton of infighting aswell and so many more issues. Honestly sadly Dead Rising 5 before it was cancelled sounded nothing like dead rising, nothing learnt from. Dr4 at all.
They're a solid channel. I always click on their vids, unless it's a series/game I simply have no interest in.
They took away the depth and charm of the game that made it fun and interesting, and made it into a generic zombie killing game.
This was the series the got me to buy an Xbox 360. The first one was so good. It still had horror elements. As it went on it became kind of a parody. Never forget getting Zombie Genecider achievement and then restarting the game to get the Mega Buster. That thing was monstrous against enemies.
Meh, who cares? It's their own franchise, just let them try to do something new with it just once. Let the designers feel inspiration. Why do people oppose a little bit of change? It's a new generation so they wanted to try something different. If it fails, then they'll change it back.
It's not like it's a gameplay-changing difference.

Having had a really close look at it at E3, I can say it's still ridiculous. Running around with a Blanka Mask on, or a shark costume, or a dress. You can still put masks, and clothes, and stupid things on zombies. The juxtaposition of the silliness on top of a "realistic" and serious veneer actually makes the humour shine more.
Plus, like all "next gen" games, it looks better in person than the videos would have you believe.
Looks great. The smartglass and Kinect intergration sounds awesome. The amount of zombies on screen is absolutely insane! My most exciting game at launch for Xbox1. A darker take on Dead Rising is kind of like the new Superman movie to the old Christopher Reed films. Both are unmistakenly Superman, but with different settings and atmosphere to keep a franchise from getting too fatigue. I like the fresh take.
People look at the 30 minute E3 trailer, and tell me thats being serious.
It got even sillier, like ElleGee mentioned, you can run around in a shark costume, add to that you can combine a circle saw with a sledgehammer, and you got silliness.
I am glad i preordered it.
