MasonicGamer.com: I love stealth games, for so many reasons, but I know a lot of people find them dull and frustrating. Stealth games may never be the biggest sellers, even when they’re met with universal acclaim. Dishonored sold around 420,000 copies in it’s first month in the United States, whilst CoD Black Ops II sold 7.5 million copies. That statistic could do with a little more context. I chose it to highlight the big difference between, what I consider to be, a wonderfully created game and just another click-on-a-man-until-he-falls- over-athon. Games with a big emphasis on stealth do sell well; Far Cry 3, a critically acclaimed blend of action and stealth, has recently passed the 6 million sales mark, according to Ubisoft.
The new trailer for the free 60 FPS update is here.
I'm happy with Part 3 & Blood Dragon getting the 60FPS treatment. I'll eventually try Primal, maybe this weekend.

Half-Life 2 art director and Dishonored designer Viktor Antonov has died aged just 52.
One of my biggest art heroes. His work and vision were truly one of a kind, and he’s been a huge inspiration to my own work. Such a heartbreaking loss.
Remember seeing Dishonored for the first time when it released, fell in love with the art style straight away, so striking! And because of it, still holds up and will for years to come, RIP Viktor
So sad to hear this. I absolutely love the Dishonored series and love the world and art style. It looks great and unique. I'm still hoping for a Dishonored 3

WolfEye Studios president and co-founder of Arkane Studios Raphaël Colantonio has said Dishonored and Prey fans “will be happy” with his new studio's next game.
Ouch, already placing a sales cap on this is potentially bad as these games never seem to sell all too well. Hopefully the budget is in check so no one gets laid off after launch.
Fuck yeah. Even if it’s just a spiritual successor I want more titles like Dishonored in terms of art style, design and gameplay
I love stealth games, And I am still waiting for another Tenchu game!
Wrong picture.
Chaos theory is awesome but I still enjoyed double agent and conviction.
Dishonored is possibly the most underrated game of this gen.
"..Why Stealth Games Are Awesome"
I agree, but the examples given, Dishonored and CoD Black Ops II, are ill-chosen examples IMHO, considering they're FPS games and stealth games need to be 3rd person so you can move freely the camera around you and see how exactly your character is positioned in his surrounding, just how close the enemies are, if you're properly hidden in the shadows, bushes, etc.
So I'd rather name IPs like Metal Gear, Splinter Cell and Hitman (feel free to add others if you know any good). Assassin's Creed, though it's often refered to as being part of this category, is not. The AC games don't have any gameplay elements pertaining to this particular genre. Great games , just not stealth at all.
That said, it's a shamefully under-represented genre in the gaming industry. Here's hoping the next-gen of consoles will offer more of them, ideally blending in open world with stealth cause, the very meagre attempts at doing that (Far Cry 2...) haven't been concluding to say the least.
