The PS3 will be fine. More quality titles is never a bad thing. Separating the two by a month would be sufficient. Two months would be better.

erm yeh i do,as long as they're not released at the very same time. a few weeks would be enough.
but then again, i look at a AAA game like GTA4 and i dont see myself another game let alone another shooter until another behemoth AAA is unleashed - MGS 4.
i know that i would pick up both R:ROM and killzone, because they will both be epic, but will the average consumer?
on the other hand, big fighter like tekken and soul calibur and street fighter coexist reasonably well.

I think they are too caught up on 360 where they hang on 1 shooter for 6 months before they move to the next. When I played ps2 i never hanged on 1 game for more than a month due to constant bombardment of titles, unless its a sports game which I usually play until the next year version comes out. OFC these two can co exist there is no competition between the two most people will buy both and play both. Its not like they coming out in same month then that could cause a slight problem but they're not. I'll happily play kz2 when I tired of res2 and vice-versa.

I'm only looking forward to Killzone 2. I have the original Resistance (that my friends talked me into buying) and it was average. It wasn't great but it was good. The A.I and Weapons design was top notch in my opinion but everything else about it was pretty average. As for Killzone 2 the E3 footage knocked my socks off and since i never played the first Killzone have nothing to really compare it to or anything except treat it like a new franchise.

IMO resistance is average shooter, KZ2 has not been proven, since many never even played number 1.

The question is who will buy into the FPS shooter, after the Hardcores get their taste? If sony's best games this gen will be Shooters, then something has changed...but yes them 2 games can co-exist but not sure about toping the sales charts together. 1 will hurt, then you throw haze in the mix which will be played for like 3 months before these 2 games are out.

I think Resistance 2 is gonna launch soon after Killzone 2 because Sony is simply covering themselves in case Killzone 2 gets mixed reviews like the first one.

Even though I initially was more hyped for killzone than resistance before either came out, after playing Resistance 1 and knowing that Insomniac has always made excellent games, I have complete faith in them. On the other hand, Killzone 2 is a huge risk that might pay off even more than Resistance 2, but it can fail a lot more miserably. As of now, I'm more excited about Resistance 2.

both halo 3 and bioshock co-existed pretty well that is until call of duty 4 arrived. but yeah if MS was able to do it with those two ips why cant sony? all they have to do is make sure that they properly advertise both properties well.

in the end sony can be doing this to simply pile it on its competition heading into Christmas season which is exactly what MS did in 07, only the difference this time is sony has actually more than just a few handful of shooters they also have littlebigplanet and motorstorm 2 to serve up until 09 pops in god of war 3 and heavy rain and other exclusives such as wardevil and geteaway 3 final fantasy 13 and many more.

who knows other games like the agency and 8 days might also make the fall this year, you can also add tekken 6 to that list as well.

my personal opinion of this is simple, sony don't worry about a thing and just go ahead and pour it on like the patriots did in the nfl.

and just watch how all the analysts will start hopping on the bandwagon and i wouldn't be surprise if some hardcore 360 gamers do so as well, despite gears of wars 2 and alan wake arriving. bank on it there is just too much ips coming from sony and partners this fall. oh and i almost forgot Ncsoft is set to start releasing their properties on the ps3 this fall as well. so..... yeah.

also watch out for multi-plats like RE5 and COD5 to play somewhat of a big role this Christmas as well.

well i think of it like this, resistance is more like halo in which they are both targeting community and fun online mechanics more so than graphics.

while killzone 2 might end up being like bioshock in an artistic way, think scenery and killer graphics to drive that vision.

or killzone 2 might end up being more like a gears of war experience with all its darkness and graphics. not to mention the guy in charge of the game was once cliff b's partners in the early days of their careers, and was quoted at e3 by cliff b as magneto while cliff b consider himself xavier.

now when you come to think about it, just looking at gears and than looking at killzone 2 they are both dark and grittier, as if they both have the same way of thinking when it comes to games. man i have to find this quote i know it was in an interview on cliff b, it was after e3 of last year.

I mean there is no question that these games will be great. I own both xbox360 & ps3 & yes in my opinion it is getting a little stuffy especially the last quarter for the ps3. This won't effect the sales people are going to buy both games & there is no question about it that they will enjoy it but I think the online play of anyone of those games is going to suffer. Because people will either play Killzone2 multiplayer or resistance 2's 60 player matches. Plus then you add a list of games like MGS4(June), LBP(Sept.), White Knight Chronicles(2008), Socom Confrontation(Sept.), The Agency(2008), Haze(May), Heavy Rain(2008), GT5 Prologue, sorry if I missed any but seriously that too too many quality games. Not to mention multiplatform games. Sony should delay some games to have some breathing space.

Killzone is unproven. If only Killzone 2 released and didn't play well Sony would hear it. But if it just looks great and plays okay it won't be a problem because Resistance will play great

umm, Killzone 1 was not even an A shooter, much less AAA. Resistance 1 was AA, pt 2 will easily be AAA, but too much premature credit is being given to Killzone 2.

It has to be noted that u are competigng with other console games too. This fall Resistance 2, Far Cry 2, Gears of War 2, and possibly Killzone 2. Also its confirmed SoCoom comes out sept 16th. Too me Killzone has to be delayed until march 09. Look what happened to UT3 and Orange Box this past fall.

Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, and Gears of War manage to co-exist rather nicely, so I don't see why not.

well perfect dark on the n64 was a tipple A title but the 360 version sucked, so... again a lot of times these titles are lebel as triple a titles because of all the hype and heavy investments being pour on them, if a title is being heavily invested specially financially it surely means its going to be seller and nothing short of that.

shenmue was also a triple a title but, it sold way under what was expected of it, so people are still wondering for third installment to come around.

killzone psp got a near perfect score and established itself as a triple A title, and hey guess what some if not most of the dev team that worked on that game are also working on this game. and hey the only reason why a game like resistance didn't score above average was because of gears having superior graphics and what not even EA said it themselves.

LOL okay I get it, some of you guys still want to believe that killzone 2 is going to be AAA even though guerilla has never made a AAA a game (or a AA or A or even b class game). The makers Dizzys candy quest, killzone, shellshock and liberation have a fine tuned track record of making trash. Metacritic on games made by guerilla: killzone 70%, liberation 77%, shellshock 58%. Guerilla is like acclaim; everything they touch becomes trash. Betting the farm on KZ2 is like betting the farm on the next turok game. Then again the most recent turok game scored only 1% lower than KZ did on metacritic.

After so many failures you would think people would wisen up to companies like guerilla. People talk about Halo 3 being hyped but at least bungie has made games that have received awards and good reviews. KZ 2 is one of the most hyped games in the history of games and has zero pedigree to back it up. Never has such a low quality dev gotten so much attention without ever creating a quality product. I love my ps3 but I have to pretend that e3 05 and 06 never happened to do so. Sony has the worst PR of any company I have ever seen.

oh boy here we go again, how? where do i start? you see resistance might have been a good run for its money when it launched and i admit i still find myself playing this game from time to time now. socom is also a proven game if you want to ask for another shooter.

as far as the whole gorilla is like acclaim, that argument is totally bogus my friend, the differences here is that gorilla unlike acclaim is getting tons of support from its new owner and its internal partners such as naughty dog, incognito and yes insomniac themselves are handling them tools and 24/7 seven support and sony even went as far as to hire a former epic developer to manage this game, this guy i cant remember his name but ill get back to you on that, but anyways this guy and cliff b worked closely on a number of games in the past so they both share the same passion and vision when it comes to their games. the budget is at 30 million right now, and the right team has been assemble for this project with full ongoing support, so why am i going to think negative about a project thats getting in some cases more hype than blu ray itself or more financial attention than a sony flick?

the e3 trailer which they showed last year was an in-game demo and left many exited, now if we're going to talk gameplay than ill have to say that gears isn't artistic either if thats the case, graphics wise this game will have no competitors and if it does you'll know the names already.

also if you want to get your hands on this game before launch time i hear there will be a beta happening soon so.. this way you can say whether or not this game has what it takes to be a Trippe A title. and not have to rely on someone else's opinion such as metric.

who's to say that out of lets say not 3 but 4 socom:confrontation, resistance 2,Coded arms assault, shooters killzone 2 wont be a hit with all the internal support its getting? i cant say i know its going to be a good as game, but with everything im hearing about this game and everything thats been reported thus far im impressed to say the least im hopeful, hey uncharted was a hype machine months before its release turns out that i not only bought the game but love it and replay it every now and than trying to unlock the hidden treasures and extras.

Sony really does need another mainline shooter franchise. They pretty much gave up after the PS3 generation, and I'm really surprised they haven't tried at another high-profile, singleplayer-centric shooter; even if it weren't Killzone or Resistance.

I miss Killzone while I can see why they still do Horizon has some really good things but I do think that Horizon is overrated imo.

Or how about studios focus on projects that they feel passionate about, and not be forced to make something they have little interest in. It shows in the final product.

It’s still got potential for the modern era. The DNA is all there. The install base is there. The interest is there. The time is now.

I’m beating a dead horse here… but Resisitance FOM gun lay out was so fun, multiplayer was one of my top favorite experiences. Insomniac nailed it and I would love a remaster and maybe a redo with Reisistance 2. They listens to players who were wanting a Halo killer and it kind of lost its character from the first.

Warhawk, if they had just remade the first one not Starhawk which offered nice things like the build and battle.. but Warhawk was the best arcade shooter I ever played. Back when you didn’t have battle passes and you actually had to get certain amount of kills or ribbons to unlock different paint skins on the Warhawks and armor for your player.. Look at the success of Helldivers 2, it’s a fun game and it reminds me of Warhawk in a way. I’ve been wanting a remake or sequel since the beginning of the ps4 gen.. it’s hurts to have hope nowadays. Even with the demise of the studios Sony has a steady fan base.

Killzone game after Killzone 2 play style would be nice

That said, I'd love it if Warhawk returned or Metal Gear Solid 4. It needs to not be shackled to the PS3 generation anymore. A Killzone 2 remake would be insane with modern graphics and that art direction.

I really miss this gen of gaming. It felt like the last truly "great" era for videogames before the modern approach really took hold.

The PS3 was such a glorious console. The UI, the games, the free online...just incredible.

I would pay good money for a Warhawk remake. Socom too. The last Socom game just didn’t do it justice. Folklore could use a remaster or remake as well.
Several other titles I would like to remade with the amount of visual fidelity the current gen has over the past consoles it could help articulate the games that we’ve loved growing up. I would love even some ps2 titles to remade.. Dark Cloud from ps2, Legacy of Kain series but don’t know what will come of it sense it was bought by Embracer group and all there layoffs.

This strategy is exactly what helped ruin Xbox. Sony more than Microsoft know when to let a franchise go and that is important to keep things fresh. The old games are there if you want to play them.

Why remaster games that ps5 players can't access when you can remaster a 4 year old game like tlou2 that was already patched with ps5 improvements

Would love a remake of the first Resistance game and also Tools of Destruction.

A gem of a gen, imo! So much IP to pluck.

Infamous 1&2 will sadly always be ignored by Sony, not even a ps4 remaster the whole gen, smh but uncharted, horizon, even days gone had next gen upgrades sheesh 🤦🏽 mane even tho Sony is still doing pretty good in the console business they are a lil big headed lol, I never played the resistance series but it would of been dope to see those games updated as well, we fans get lil surprises here n there but things we really are into having and being vocal about gets passed over like a mf 🤣😩

Remasters are a waste of time and developer resources. Real Devs make new games.

God I would live a Killzone or Resistance collection. Really hoping for a new one in either franchise down the line, loved both series.

I’d say new sequels instead.
