GameStop appears initially to have caught a break with Sony.
Unlike Microsoft's restrictive Xbox One, where publishers will have more say in the way that their games are or are not able to be transferred between players, Sony made it a point on Monday night to emphasize that PS4 buyers will be able to trade in, sell, or lend their disc-based games.

A gamer tried to sell his PS4 Pro to GameStop USA and found out that he would actually have to pay the store.
I stopped going to GameStop when they no longer let me use my monthly $5 rewards points towards PS network cards.
Weird I live in Canada and the Gamestop near me says you need the console, controller, controller cord, and an HDMI cord before they will take a console on trade. And if the console shows signs of being opened they still won't take the machine. And if you upgrade the PS4 HDD from 500 gig to a 1TB they will count that machine as modified and label it as a 500 gig model. Better to just sell it on Facebook Marketplace.

GameStop has announced plans to shut down stores across the country after closing 300 locations just last year.
The popular gaming retailer says net sales have fallen 20 percent, now sitting at $860 million - a drastic change from its $1.08 billion in 2023.
Also giving you about $5.00 off for buying a used game is just bullshit. For example: https://www.gamestop.com/vi... New is $59.99, if your going to sell it for a used price it needs to be at least $10-$20 less. I hope GameStop just goes away.
Not surprising, but sad. WooT is killing it with their game discounts...on new games.
This is just market forces adjusting for GameStop’s long-time practices of nickel and diming the consumer. I feel bad for the workers though. It’s not good that they have to lose their jobs over this.
Not too surprising. Lots of people buying digital.
And GameStops trade in and resale pricing strategy is awful for customers. I will miss them when they are gone though.
Most I will miss being able to trade in a console, get a couple hundred towards the new model like PS5 to PS5 Pro.

GameStop is one of the last remaining relics from a bygone era where stores like Blockbuster, Game Crazy, Hollywood Video, and many others were found on every corner. If you…
@ 1:30 in the video, What the hell? "The PS3 has been a forgotten console that allowed the Xbox 360 to overrun the market, and the Wii had the small little lower end family based market."
He also thinks that devs are gonna flock to MS's DRM machine thus forcing gamers to do the same. As if we can't influence devs by purchasing a DRM free console and saying this is where we'll be if you want us to purchase your games you'll follow us and not the other way around.
I think this guy may be high or something.... SMFH
# @adam_orth, Sony dealt with it...lol
Duke you're drunk go home!.. You really don't know what you're saying..
Didn't read article but came to say, I don't shop at Gamestop anyway. I rather go online and check out amazon or some local shop around the way. Gamestop is the last place I support.
Now Gamestop can return the favor. This current generation most Gamestop employees seemed to push the 360 on their customers. Now they can push the PS4 on everyone. That at least makes sense since the PS4 will have more games they can sell used.
I can't believe the crap that loser said on the video. I guess Motley Fool is sponsored by Microsoft. What a dope.
When they say no DRM their talking about first parties. Trenton clearly said its up to the publisher and their relationship with the consumer. In a nutshell if the third parties say fuck u we get DRM on PS4 too. The question he was asked was no about online passes. Sometimes we hear what we want to hear.
