"Microsoft appeared& #160;to come out stunningly with its E3 press conference, and with it, came exciting, and unexpected news. News such as the Xbox One will be releasing new hardware: a redesigned slimmer , and quieter Xbox 360. Yet, the retail price will remain unchanged. Microsoft also revealed that the Xbox One will retail for $499.99 in the States; £429.99 in the UK; and, 499.99 Euros in Europe. They also revealed that the platform will release, initially in 21 countries. "

Square Enix launches Final Fantasy X 25th anniversary site, revealing new Nomura art, books, music releases, and merchandise.
Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.
They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

LucasArts gave Jango Fett his own game in 2002, and it pulled Star Wars into a much dirtier, rougher, and more interesting corner of the galaxy.

Dear team,
Xbox has always been different.
We started with a simple idea. Games should bring people together through shared experiences. That led to the first Xbox in 2001, Xbox Live in 2002, and new ways to connect, from friends lists and achievements to parties and play across devices. Today, Xbox reaches over 500 million players around the world, with some of the most important franchises in entertainment.
If they go back to exclusive games it at least shows that they are finally getting it. They would be turning down immediate money for something that will potentially workout in the long term.
Only issue is they've already opened Pandora's box. A lot of their base has moved to PC or jumped to PS. So will be a long road to get back on track.
We have been saying this from day one exclusives are a must if you are going to be selling hardware look at Nintendo and Sony before Jim Ryan. That's the proven formula. You had some that were deluded and blinded by loyalty accepting that multiplat was the future and that MS was merely getting ahead of where the industry was headed, but at least they can finally see the light and agree with what everyone has been saying for a decade+
Despite all of that, it's clear that Microsoft's Xbox division is broken beyond repair.
I genuinely believe Microsoft had a better E3 presentation.
...
Until Sony revealed their DRM policy and pricing. The crowd's cheers and chanting Sony's name said it all.
It's a no-brainer.
PS4 all the way.
On a side note, Amazon has the Xbox One Launch edition pre-orders up again. Either they expanded their stock or people are canceling.
It was a true gamefest.
I can never understand the fanboyism that goes on here. It's incredibly annoying.
Let's all be honest, thus far, Sony has a leg up on Microsoft in terms of appealing to gamers. Both press conferences were pretty good until the point where they both talk about pricing, where Sony clearly hurt Microsoft. I think, perhaps, that is going to be the biggest blow to Microsoft come this holiday season. The whole used games thing seems a bit blown out of proportion, since Microsoft isn't going to put any fee on any first party games and have only ALLOWED third parties to do so if they choose. Thus far, however, no one has said they would.
What really kills me is that, essentially, SONY IS DOING THE SAME THING BECAUSE PUBLISHERS CAN STILL CHOOSE TO DO THE SAME ON THE PS4 IF THEY WANT. So, in reality, we have fanboys bashing Microsoft when there is really no discernible difference between the two companies on that front. Our anger as gamers should be directed towards any publishers who choose to use that option, period. Neither Microsoft nor Sony have said they'll do so.
Sony also has the advantage on the always-online thing and the "checking in", but I have a feeling Microsoft is going to be forced to change that. If not, that's really stupid on their part, period. Especially in terms of international appeal. Not everyone is spoiled rotten like we are here in the US.
What will make or break either console, however, is the long-term plans both companies have in terms of exclusive gaming. Thus far, there are interesting exclusives on both sides.
Titanfall and, of course, the new Halo are huge for Microsoft. Remedy's Quantum Break looks very nice as well. How can you be a gamer and simply turn your eye to those games? Sony has quite the few interesting IPs as well, such as Infamous and Killzone. Again, how can you claim to be a gamer and be excited about those titles and all the while show the utmost hypocrisy when expressing hatred towards those who ALSO exhibit excitement for some of the games the Xbone will offer? I refuse to understand the PS4 fanboys here who are just crushing Microsoft over everything and anything while simply ignoring those games.
I actually enjoy N4G as my go-to website for gaming news and I could careless about Microsoft or Sony as I totally understand they view me as a consumer and nothing more. Sometimes one company will treat that consumer better than the other. That's all it should be about. So far, Sony has shown they're doing that. If they ever stop doing so, or if Microsoft ends up with better games, why would anyone still defend them blindly? When the 360 and PS3 were first introduced, it was Microsoft that treated the consumer better and gave us more for less.
How hypocritical must one be to write off a company's product this early on, especially when the same people doing that fully understand how the PS3 took some time to gain traction and Sony had to change after learning some lessons?
