I think the biggest news is simply the price point.

Undercutting the Xbox by $100 is a huge point in Sony's favor, and the fact that they're nearly at the same price point as Nintendo's flaccid WiiU puts them in a -very- competitive situation.

I'm curious to see how Nintendo will react. Hopefully, they'll cut the WiiU's price before Wind Waker HD forces me to buy one.

To be honest no DRM is a dam good thing for gamers, but if you look at both of their press conferences you can see that it is already hurting Sony every single title Microsoft Showed for xbox one was exclusive (minus phantom pain) and some were coming from third parties. Sony, on the other hand, nearly every title they Showed for PS4 was multiplat. I really think in the end their will be more and more exclusive for Xbox One, and fewer on PS4 because of DRM.

Is it true you have to pay to play online on the ps4? I didn't catch that during the conference...

I'm going to enjoy seeing all developers flock to X1.

Now that PS4 has the same Architecture as a PC its going to be easier then ever to hack it, With no DRM to stop it. Everyone will be able to play games for FREE its going to be more hacker friendly then a Nintendo DS lol.

I hope Sony bets the Shit out of MS so they can get there act back together.

I have been an Xbox gamer the last 2 generations and I love the Xbox exclusives but i am a gamer first You have to be a friggin idiot to buy an Xbox 1 over a PS4. It's $100 less and the GPU is 50% more powerful. Not even mentioning the DRM. MS did get nuked today.

about 10 million or so. same as with Sony. Don't forget that microsoft still has timed exclusivity. people who play cod will want to stick with their friends and they've already paid for live likely. My friends are why i preordered x1 . we all play battlefield and halo. no one plays PS online right now. i think it will come down to social networks. Live is so easy to coordinate games compared to psn. its going to be very interesting to see who comes out on top. I agree that sony looks very good right now, but who would have thought the wii would have one last gen. I would like to see microsoft change their tune on DRM, but if they don't its ok. Im online all the time anyway.

It could be a stripped down console version with a 4 gig HDD and no wifi for all we know. The reason MS abandoned multiple SKUS is because no one really bought the cheap consoles, same with PS3.

Also all these hardware specs that are so much better then Xbox? What DDR 3 vs DDR 4? regardless of the fact Sony abandon their 'better then Xbox 360' cell processor because it was a big flop. Hard to devlop for, and created much longer and arduous development times then PowerPC for the xbox. This is why custom content and games usually launched on the Xbox 360 first for multiple console releases. From DLC for COD to Skrim bugs and months long waiting for DLC. PS4 always took a back seat.

PS4 is using an off the shelf AMD Jaguar Processor. Whilst MS is using a custom designed by Microsoft PowerPC 8 core.

They both use the same GPUs. No one even knows the size of the HDD in the ps4.

Sony has a long history of over promising and under delivering. Microsoft has a history of listening to its user base and adjusting.

They both will play awesome games, the graphics and game play will be sick - the next gen is here - the real question is, what else do you want for your money? A fancy blu ray player, or a full media intergration into your total living room, after you're done playing games?

Ill pay 100 bucks 'more' for the X1 for all that. It's worth it.

THE BEST hardware in the world is USELESS unless you have software to leverage it. Sony is a hardware company. MS is a software company. That is why MS dashboard and online service, and full game integration has always trumped PS2,3, and soon to be 4. That's why for 8 years PS3 can't play music from your computer while you play a video game. You don't have group chats across different games and so much more the xbox has done from day 1.

I mean really your ps4 is finally catching up to stuff 360 has been doing for 8 years. I guess if i was a fan boy of ps i would be happy about that. :P

i don't know which system you game the most on. i have both xbox and ps3 and live is way better at this point. No party chat on ps3 sucks. glad to see PS in getting it this gen. hope it is implemented better than party chat on vita. Sony has never been user friendly with their systems. That is one thing microsoft gets, making things easy to setup. win for everybody today. especailly offline used game players on Playstation good for them. I'll be joining them after i pay off my X1.
