"You’d have to think that if Nintendo had that system seller, they’d have a press conference"They are showing Smash bros, 3D mario, and Mariokart. All three are considered systems sellers selling over 10 Million each last gen, and Mariokart hitting 34 Million.Whatever reason they have for showing a direct instead of an E3 conference, i'm positive lack of software to show isn't one of them. People need to stop assuming that they aren't having a conference because they are "scared" or "know hey can't win" E3 has been closed to the public for a while now, the only way for average gamer to watch it is if you watch online,Nintendo probably figured why waste Money on a live show for Gamers not attending the conference, they are still having a private conference specifically for retailers.

very true.

Nintendo is making E3 for US the gamers. A nintendo direct that anyone can view, an open show before E3 opens allowing the press to get as much time as they want with demos for better coverage and previews of their games and demos of E3 announcements going to best buys around the country.

Clearly everything points to Nintendo doing everything for US and not the stockholders who MS and Sony will be directing their conferences at. E3 streams are fun to watch to see announcements live but the half-hour to an hour of Sony and MS talking about how much they sold and how much they want to sell is boring and unneeded, gamers don't care about that they care about what they have up their sleeves for the gamers to buy and play in the next year.

These negative articles from websites who claim they are a "legit" news site annoy me. If they were real journalist they would be unbiased and not try and tarnish any companies hardware or software. Just like how reviews aren't suppose to be someones opinion but an unbiased assessment of the game.

Very poorly researched article. Lots of doom and gloom followed by speculation listing titles that are already confirmed for e3. Lazy gaming journalism.

I wonder what we'll see that isn't announced. I'm curious with the HTML5 platform how that will change the playing field. There are some good games developed using that standard if Nintendo can nail that plus setting up funding for IOS and Android developers to make bigger versions of there games exclusive to their platform that's how they can turn their fortunes around.

I like to think that no matter what there will always be a Nintendo handheld ( Nintendos first party games aren't to graphics heavy so it could work.)

Crazy to think the WII is to the Switch 2, as the NES was to the WII back then. 20 Year difference.

My wife asks me to bust it out (heh) everyone once in a while to play bowling and tennis with the kids. There was a ton of slop on it but some good stuff as well.

Wii was great but boy howdy did it cause Microsoft to go on a dark walk with the Kinect and the disastrous XBox One launch that they arguably never recovered from.

Not nostalgic for me.. I was there.. anyone who wasnt a little kid realized it was a gamecube with shit tacked onto it, it was the "joke" system and was well below even the switch in terms of comparing it to the latest machines at the time. The machine was well loved by young people and "casual gamers" who now remember it 20 years on, or in most cases more of its sales came in the 15-20 years ago range not right at launch- but again its not nostalgic for people who were "gamers" then really, just for those who ended up with one in their house, the games , graphics, interface and online features were archaic already in 2006.
