I started a local game where i played alone for like ten minutes and then started the reaping ;-)

It is a big of a steep learning curve but a great game

I got the DL version and it was touch and go at first. Still a great game though.

It's not necessarily the controls that are the problem. The troop and vehicle controls are just like halo or resistance or any shooting game, but flying is freaking hard. I had no idea how to lock on for a week. I knew I had homing missiles and I was wondering how to use them until somebody on the ps3 forums said to hold down L1 all the time.

The most frustrating part was the constant "missile lock" warnings. I had to go to youtube to figure out how to evade them.

But, yes, I think the learning curve is really steep without some sort of tutorial mode.

It's a fair complaint, but it shouldn't take that long to get used to it. Just go to an unranked or low-ranked-limited server.

what this author could have done is open his own server in his local area and just practice there, it's very unlikely someone will join you. That's what I did

this game has been out for awhile so i dont think any kind of in game tutorial will help you right now. the pro's and I will own your a$$ anyway.. Thats why they have rooms you can join where everyone is a noob.. Anyway the only way to get good at any game is to jump in and play it.. Not watch or read instruction books.

And warhawk is one of those games you just have to jump into and play to get use to. Everyone is bound to get owned once in awhile.. But if your a good gamer you should pick up on things really fast.. Everything is pretty basic except for the flying part.. that Takes a little to get use to and can be intimadating at 1st.. But once you learn how to fly and use the warhawk weapons correctly, you will be screwing people up left and right.. Other than that the game is pretty freaking easy to learn..

COD4 is more techinical and i see morons on there all the time.. lol. thats a game that needs to break down each game type. Especially showing the noobs how to defend and defuse a bomb in search and destroy.. i hate when my team plants the bomb at A and 1 or 2 guys on my side will just hangout at site b until the other team defuses the bomb.. or they just roam around the map while the other teams bomb explodes..

anyway practice makes perfect.. Instruction books and crap like that are for Homo's who shouldnt be playing games in the 1st place..

I got the game the minute it came on PSN. The beta testers used me as a chew toy the whole night.

the first thing i did was host a private server, and flew around alone for a bit. getting a feel for the way the ships and vehicles handled, the way the soldier moved, etc.

when i was comfortable, *THEN i jumped into some games.

naturally, i got my @ss handed to me, but it was a blast.

it's gotten to the point now, where playing Warhawk is like riding a bike. even if i haven't played it for a few months, the moment i get back in the game, it's like i never left.

it truly is one of the best, if not the best, online exclusive on the PS3 at the moment. Resistance is great also, but i prefer Warhawk over it anyday.

It is like a challenge....

...ut in something to stop spawn killing. I gave up playing as there where too many people spawn killing which for me, just makes a mockery out of a game thats all about on-line play.

I gave the game about 8 hours but it still has not hooked me in. I am still an avid fan of COD4 and that is not likely to change anytime soon when it comes to playing on-line.

Warhawk should be provided as a demo so consumers could try before they buy. There is no excuse for not providing on-line demos for all games nowadays. I certainly feel like I wasted $59.95 with my purchase.

Ok maybe more than a few before I got good. COD4 was the same though. I didn't get 30 kills my first MP match. Now I can all the time. Any new game is tough on MP. It's the learning curve.

Jumped right into the action the day I downloaded it. Never had any real issues as it plays like many other shooters in third person. I love it and though I do not care for flying the warhawks, I love the other vehicles and the anti-aircraft weapons rule. Very awesome game if you ask me. It is by far one of the best online only games ever made IMHO.

Mandela Effect: In my universe Warhawk along with Lair were disasters that showed the folly of Sixaxis controls

I keep saying this: Sony was much bolder in the PS3 era vs. pS4 era. I appreciated their attempts at large scale multiplayer like Warhawk, Socom Confrontation, and yes, MAG. I loved all of these games and spent many hours playing. This is the Sony I want to start seeing again.

Man was this game underrated. Huge maps incredible draw distance 16 vs 16 with so much going on tight gameplay and if you had a team of players actual strategies come into play. Man I miss this game.

I love this game, I had so much fun. I wish there was a sequel or remaster coming.

Top 10 game for me, nothing has been as pure, simple fun as this game was to me. I really hope there is a remake/remaster at some point.

Capture the flag. Enemy jeep carrying the flag with 2 or 3 enemies in the vehicle, comes sppeding towards you, getting ever nearer to their goal. Then the mines you laid blow the lot sky high.

So satisfying!

I just played this a month ago... I thought it was just last month?
It is an extremely hectic MP shooter I died a lot... Again!

When I first read this, I was like, "Whoa! Cool!" and thought that January 2019 was a really long way out there. And then I remembered, oh wait, that's less than 2 months away. Hmmmmm.

A new Warhawk and new Socom would make people lose their minds Sony.

Warhawk was really good, they should deffo remaster for ps4

Funny how Warhawk got bashed for being a budget title that was multiplayer only. Fast forward to 2018 and now most of the big multi-player games are doing the exact same thing, charging full price and shoving micro transactions down our throats.

This use to be my favorite online game.
