"I have said it all along the reason that monster hunter is so great is because of the monsters.Everything else is secondary. I still remember the rush I got while fighting teostra for the first time. It took me a lot of tries before I beat him. But that was one of my most fulfilling experiences. The lore of monsters in monster hunter was amazing as well. The build up to ancient dragons was so exciting that when I finally got around to hunting them I was a bit overwhelmed. It felt like I was an uninvited stranger that is encroaching on their sacred land."

After the good feelings that came with the remarkable Toukiden 2, the Omega Force team in charge of this series has shown interest in working on a new chapter of the franchise, although they have recalled that at the moment they are developing a project that will be surprising, without offering more details.
After the release of MH World, Omega Force has a lot to catch up. Toukiden 2 is pretty good but I just can't help but find the game just more or less the same. The open world feature needs a few more kinks and additions instead of just "collecting items" and "killing enemies". The combat also needs to be improved upon because while it is indeed fast, it can get pretty repetitive. I also wish that the story and characters will be better, because I found the characters in TK2 to be a bit less varied compared to TK1, and even then a lot of the characters were basically stereotypes.

Finished Monster Hunter World and still looking for more? Here are some games that will sate your hunting genre appetite.

Koei Tecmo confirmed today that the Toukiden series is going to be "expanded" in the future
The monsters/enemies just need to be a bit more active, they seem a bit static a lot of the times. Not saying they should move between zones if they don't already, but at least a bit more mobile, from what I played anyways.
I played the Japanese demo of this about a month ago. It's a 99% Monster Hunter clone, and I mean that in a GOOD way, honestly. Monster Hunter fans should keep their eye on this one. The combat, the large map with various "zones", the home village, gathering resources from the map, carving enemies for loot, having to dodge and avoid enemies....everything feels like Monster Hunter. Even the combat (where you have to take your time and pace yourself instead of button mashing) feels identical to Monster Hunter. Your weapons and attacks actually have "weight". Monster Hunter fans know exactly what I'm talking about.
I'm glad this is coming to the West, especially if it supports online play. This, plus Soul Sacrifice, plus Panopticon/Freedom Wars is turning the Vita into a "boss hunter" dream.
sweet, i havent even heard of this, now im super excited. all in 2 minutes!
My friends and I have put a few thousand hours in Monster Hunter, and as soon as we saw this a few months ago, and played the Japanese demo, we have been anticipating it ever since. It is truly a clone in every sense of the word. And that is a GREAT thing!
yep played the demo got screen shots for who ever wants to see it
It makes my stomach turn every time I hear someone use the words "Monster Hunter Clone"..
Jesus christ I will die hearing everyone refer to any game with monsters that you hunt in it as Monster Hunter. Not going go through all the history but PSO was the first game on consoles to ever do that and there were tons of games on PC that did it before PSO.. Why does no one ever mention those games?
Anyway this game is on par with Soul Sacrifice graphics wise, one isn't better than the other really. Soul Sacrifice has far better character designs though and monsters.. Some of the best I have ever seen.
I would say Soul Sac can get way more intense and way more stuff happens on the screen but I only played the demo of Toukiden.
Both are awesome games and I will be playing both, hopefully along with PSO 2 as well if that ever gets release over here.. *shakes my head* @ Sega..
