Nice wish i could of done this before i lost one of my games lol

SegataSanshiro4751d ago

Now let's see that vita cracked, so that people will buy more! Or is it only good when people hack non Sony stuff?

IMightBeRetarded4751d ago

Hacking is fine imho, but the problem comes when piracy starts. Piracy is why the vita has all the restrictions such as memory cards and is also one of the primary reasons behind this DRM shit.

crxss4751d ago

time to pick one up again!

TheModernKamikaze4751d ago

I just owned an XL. Can you tell me about this flash cards?

Very bad piracy kill gaming

LeRise4751d ago

Bad games kill gaming, good games make people buy them in gratitude to creators.
What can you do about this when half of modern games simply don't have demos?

dark-hollow4751d ago

people pirate to get shit for free. we are not entitled for games we cant afford/own.

admiralvic4751d ago

Not like demos always give you a clear idea of the product though. Look at Aliens.

hiredhelp4751d ago (Edited 4751d ago )

Piracy doesn't kill gaming if it did why is the gaming industry as big as movie industry.
For the record piracy started way bk in 80's never heard complaints then.
Tape to Tape. VHS to VHS did you here all this complaining when first playstation and the dreamcast was hacked? No yes piracy is wrong but i refuse to beleave it hurts the industry full stop.

fsfsxii4751d ago

I laughed when you said the gaming industry is as big as the movie industry.

It doesn't even come close

BeZdaBest4751d ago

well dreamcast wasnt really hacked.. it had poor to non existent protection...still love that console though..*sniffle*.. "the dream never ends"

Eamon4751d ago

Actually it technically is as big as movie industry. The number of games coming out a year is equal or higher to the number of films.

And the budget for game production of blockbuster titles generally are as big blockbuster hollywood films.

SnotyTheRocket4751d ago

Do you know how many revenue steams the movie industry has? First, it goes to theaters, then DVD, then Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, and then TV. And the companies get a ton of money from all of that. Games, they have to make the bulk of their money within the first six months, then they dont get as much after that. Except maybe Steam.

grimmweisse4751d ago

Developers have one revenue stream. The movie industry has at least 4 revenue streams, that's why piracy hasn't killed it. And yes it hurts the gaming industry, if you don't believe that then you obiviously don't have a clue how things work. I mean you tried to compared two forms of media that have no relation to one another!

AIndoria4751d ago

Actually, do you know how much DS was popular just because of piracy? I'm sure it sold 30% more because people pirated games and bought the system. It harmed the games, yep, but the system? No.

NarooN4751d ago

Ironically this will actually lead to more people buying 3DS's, lol.

chestnut11224751d ago (Edited 4751d ago )

and makes the devs leaves the 3ds the same fate PSP's past that makes the Vita suffers. Games are far more important than the hardware itself.

Blackdeath_6634751d ago

well many kids i see playing DS are far too young to even know or care about piracy also the DS has established its self for a long time now in the console market. the install base is there and i can't see sales being affected. this is only useful to people who just want to catch up on games they missed on the DS before buying nintendo's next handheld which is what i think nintendo should be working on right now

animegamingnerd4751d ago

i don't think that will happen cause i imagine nintendo might just release a firmware update to counter this

chestnut11224751d ago

Wether you like it or not, Piracy is the enemy of Gaming Developers. I rather spend a lot of dollars + more games than buying it cheap but no quality games being produced in the future.

GameCents4751d ago (Edited 4751d ago )

Hacking Nintendo seems to be a positive here. Hack anything Playstation related and you'll recieve death threats and people will complain that submitting the news is advertising the hack.

@Yami, LOL I'll do you one better, I'll happily approve PS hacked news and continue to laugh at the tears that come with every VITA doomed article.

Studio-YaMi4751d ago (Edited 4751d ago )

Cry us a river ?

@GameCents
Whatever makes you happy I guess ? xD

admiralvic4751d ago (Edited 4751d ago )

Honestly, they're quite different in both concept and how they're achieved, so people don't mind as much.

The PSP could be hacked by loading certain files, exploiting a special mode via battery (which could be used to endlessly hack more systems for free) and various other things that could be done for free or little to no cost to the consumer.

The DS and from what I can tell here, the 3DS is not quite as simple. Since you need to obtain a flash cart, you'll leave a paper trail (as these things are basically used exclusively for piracy and really you don't have the rights to make a back up. Almost, if not every video game has this term.) and the cost of entry is much higher (at least $10 dollars, but I would assume close to 30+ here).

I can't say I blame people for being against the exchange of virtually free and effortless hacking, but not minding the exchange of info around a device you need to buy and use to "hack" the system. Especially when a lot of the legitimate users who are into this sort of thing (and lesser degree pirates), are only into it because you can bring your collection with you at all times. The video shows only one game loading from a micro SD card at a time, which might mean the hack is or at least currently is limited to one game loading. If this is the case, many people will not give a **** about it. However, it might still appeal to import fans.

SegataSanshiro4751d ago

You're in N4G, the hypocrisy here is unbelievable.

rainslacker4750d ago

There are some of us Sony fans who think the 3DS getting hacked to play pirated games is just as bad as it happening on the Vita, or any other system for that matter.

Don't assume the vocal people represent the majority. If you can't add anything worthwhile to the discussion, then I'm not sure what calling out hypocrisy will do, unless you're just a troll trying to piss people off.

Best 2D, Mario World, best 3D, Mario 64. Can't say there's been a bad one, although Mario World 2 wasn't a true sequel. The Mario Land games were good (not the first one) and also Wario Land. I thought after Mario 64, Mario 3D World was excellent.
