Gi - Bad Bots is an indie shooter-platformer for the PC via Steam. Indie creator, Vanni Del Moral (Pointfiveprojects) developed the game. The developer’s prior games include I Gun Zombies, Battle High & Battle High 2, and the Hive. Vanni Del Moral’s current release did relatively well at the 2012 IndiePub competition earning an honorable mention. Much like Vanni Del Moral’s other games, Bad Bots features a distinctive 2D aesthetic and art style that contributes to the developer’s unified look. Featuring thousands of angry robots, can Bad Bots provide enough gunning action to captivate gamers or does it run out of ammunition too quickly?

GIZORAMA - Bad Bots is about as classic of a platform shooter as there can be, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. In the sandwich world, it would be comparable to a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. It’s not exactly nutritious, nor is it anything innovative, but you know exactly what you’re getting. Bad Bots gives you a few guns, an ax, and robots. It does not try to be anything more than what it is – a game providing the cathartic effect that comes from shooting robots into tiny little pieces.

STFUandPlay's Brian Munjoma writes;
"The 2D side scrolling genre has seen a sharp decline since the introduction of 3D graphics. There have been some games which have revisited this classic style like Shank, Mark of the Ninja and Bionic Commando Rearmed. It is difficult to make a stand out game in this genre, mainly because it’s been done to death like zombies and Bad Bots is a good example of just how hard it is."

From the review: "Sure the old-school visuals look nice but within the first 10 minutes, you've pretty much seen and done everything you are going to do in the game. If you got $10 to spend and about 2-3 hours to blow away tons of bots, then sure give it a try; just know that you aren't really getting that much for what you bought. "
