Pixelitis Picks: The corniest game dialogue ever

"Some people can’t act worth a damn (except for Andrew, he was a theater kid in high school).

This is especially true in the realm of videogames, particularly in the 90s, where the idea of real voices permeating through our TV speakers as we played was a sight to behold. The reasoning behind bad acting in games can be a bevy of things: budget constraints, poor writing/localization or unqualified actors. Even fantastic voice actors like Paul Eiding (of Metal Gear Solid fame) can’t shine if the quality of the writing is cringe-worthy.

Even so, bad game dialogue can be a blessing in that it can create some of the most unintentionally hilarious moments while one plays. Love it or hate it, games have it in spades, and so we’d like to share some of that cheese with you.

Please feel free to leave your own favorite example of awful game dialogue and/or voice acting on the comments section of our page."

I remember playing the Cursed Crusade demo and came across this gem "But Milord, they rain arrows down upon us like a pissing cow."

Aw man, I saw the RE photo and expected a line from there. I can't remember but I remember odd pauses when he talked to Jill about the lockpick

Dude4204743d ago

That's hilarious, when I read the Title and intro, the first game that popped into my head was Castlevania: SOTN. Then what do you know, it was the first game in the article.

Capcom says it wants Mega Man, Devil May Cry, and Ace Attorney to be 'core IPs' like Monster Hunter

Sorry if you were expecting Bionic Commando.

Actions speak louder than words. Show me a new Mega Man game that isn't a collection of games I played yesteryear. If they can churn out some kind of RE game every other year they can make a new Mega Man entry. It's not like it's known for its deep stories.

I can see DMC, but the others just weren't built for that without some major adjustments on how they're played.

If they make the right choices and right kinds of games, the Mega-Man IP could potentially be made into an animated film or streaming series like the success of Mario and Sonic. Surely that thought may have crossed their minds? Or am I being silly? I mean there is a lot more water to go under the bridge for them to even start considering that. But I used to be a big mega-man fan back in the day. I'd love to see it happen.

It’s being done on purpose just to destroy inafune . It’s some pride stuff on the inside .

blacktiger164d ago

all talk and if they launch it will cost $200

shinXseijuro164d ago

Just like the guys said . I’ll believe it when I see it . Even the shareholders are asking questions regarding Megaman . I don’t want to sound ludacris but I have a strong conviction that the heads at Capcom are purposely holding the Megaman IP down because of their grudge and spite towards inafune on some deeper Japanese honour code stuff . It’s deeper than we think . You can tell something isn’t right .

VersusDMC164d ago

Well i hope DMC is being worked on. Either a remake of 1 or 6 will do.

And bring back Megaman X. Either regular, command mission or make it a Metroidvania since silksong is so popular.
