Current development status of Final Fantasy games

Spokesperson for Japanese Final Fantasy fan-site FF-Reunion got hold of the current development status of the following Final Fantasy games.

TheLyonKing4748d ago

basically all on going.

E3 better be versus and DUN DUN DUUUUUUN an agitio loclaization.

I do not care about 13-3 save that for something else.

crxss4748d ago

out of all of those games people care about Versus the most yet SE doesn't even say anything...

Reibooi4748d ago

The one reason I think SE hasen't said anything about Versus in a long time might be because of the rumors about the game that have been going around for a few years.

One that the game isn't Versus anymore and has been rebranded as Final Fantasy XV and two is that it may not be a PS3 game anymore they might have moved it to PS4(which could make sense as we know Nomura said that the game was using parts of the next gen SE engine they showed last year)

Those things would be the kind of thing they would want a big event and tons of eyes on them for. Not exactly the kinda thing where they would let slip on a website or magazine that the game is now XV and is coming to PS4.

Either way I would bet we will see it this year in some form. If they announce a 100% new FF that has nothing to do with Versus they are insane and just asking for fans to abandon them.

its so frustrating i had enough of FF13's the first was super linear i couldn't bring my self to finish it even though i was on the last chapter and there was absolutely nothing in that game that made me want another two. FF14 is a train wreck, versus has vanished into thin air and all we keep getting are HD remakes. they need to start fresh they didn't do well at all this gen far off from their success on the ps2 and before

Firan4748d ago

Type 0/Agito would be awesome. I played the Japanese version for few hours and I loved it. It's much better than FF13.

fsfsxii4748d ago

Type-0 localization please... oh, and please release FFVII Crisis Core on the Playstation store, i had to mod my PSP to play that game again

Firan4748d ago

Let me guess, broken UMD drive?

Whitey2k4748d ago

i was wondering where versus is or maybe final fantasy 14

iMaim4748d ago

switch only for 7 8 and 9

remake and rebirth ps5

S2Killinit230d ago

7,8,9 only Switch
7 remake & rebirth only PS5?
Is this accurate? Wish it was all for both.

-Foxtrot232d ago

Why can’t they just do a cool classic collection with VII, VIII and IX in with some goodies similar to what they did with the Pixel Remaster.

FinalFantasyFanatic230d ago

I would honestly go for a Remaster Collection, just AI upscale some textures (there are really good fan mods for that), widescreen everything where possible, higher native resolution, etc...

It seems like a no-brainer to make such a large portion of what was FF's golden age into a collection of it's own.

gold_drake230d ago

this is square we're talking about.

VersusDMC231d ago

Weird that 7 and 8 are together for 40 and 9 is 40 on it's own.

8 should be the one on it's own as it actually has redone models.

jznrpg231d ago (Edited 231d ago )

I have ff8 ps4 remastered physical euro version. They should have put these on PS5 physically so lame.

B5R231d ago

I'm actually so tired of hearing about FFIX. Just replayed it with Moguri Mod earlier this month. That might as well be the definitive version.

Broken Games That Never Got Fixed

While a lot (like way too many) games launch in sorry states these days, a lot of them do eventually get polished up over time fixes. The same can’t be said for these properly broken games.

Worst for me is wipeout 2048.
I got gold in every single player race, made it extremely far into the great online shop platinum was a finger away.. then lost all my online progression. Many players experienced the same and hadn’t been fixed since

joab777293d ago

Cyberpunk and No Mans Sky are obviously the 2
best comeback stories. Cyberpunk is literally one of the best RPGs ever made now.

Christopher292d ago

I wouldn't call NMS broken at release, just under-delivered.

Michiel1989293d ago

junctioning is only broken now because it's been datamined which monster which gives which card and which card gives which items and every single spell to junction with the highest points for each stat. For it's time when that info wasn't readily available it was good, not without it's flaws, but not broken,

-Foxtrot293d ago

Exactly. I never got this because what made it broken was the knowledge of what to exploit.

Playing the game for the first time back then you never had any knowledge to make it so easy.

One minute the Junction system is complicated, the next it's super easy / broken. What is it?

gold_drake292d ago

i mean, ff8 is not "broken" per se, its just that the junction system is too good and easily exploited even an hour into the game. haha

Ashunderfire86292d ago

Star Wars Jedi Survivor is one of them. I can’t get in the Cantina bar later on in the game. The door and other doors throughout the environment is locked off. It is a shame, because I wanted to complete the game, but I can’t until they fix it.

Playstation Icons: Squall Leonhart

Gary Green said: Tempting as it is to dedicate our first installment of PlayStation Icons to a franchise-leader like Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, or even Sackboy, instead I’m choosing a character that I, like so many others, connected with on a personal level. He’s a moody, world-weary teen, a proud loner with no time for the drama of others, and yet he’s also a hero just waiting for the motivation to unleash his full potential. He’s a warrior. He’s a leader. He’s the king of internal monologues. It’s time to meet Squall Leonhart.
