Fans have been clamoring for any kind of online functionality in the Mario Party series for the last three titles, all of which were released on online capable systems. With Mario Party 3DS scheduled to release this winter, fans can only hope that this outing will be the first to allow players to connect and battle worldwide. Thankfully, a job posting on Nd Cube’s official website brings some hope to the franchise and its local only multiplayer.

2013 saw Nintendo release many quality titles--Fire Emblem: Awakening, Super Mario 3D World, Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds among them--but it was hardly the best of times financially. Wii U sales are sluggish, some people are calling for executive resignations, and others are saying that the publisher needs to radically change its business practices. All of this will make for an interesting 2014, one that we're going to predict… RIGHT NOW.

Glitch Cat - All in all, Wii Party U has a wide variety of gameplay modes and mini-games that make the game worthwhile. The fact that it is being bundled with a Wii U Remote sweetens the deal yet gimmicky games, faulty AI and some really boring mini-games may keep some players away. If party games are your thing, and you have friends willing to play it, you will definitely find some fun here. Otherwise, look for fun somewhere else.

GaminRealm: Nintendo plans on going out of 2013 releasing only “casual” mainstream titles for the Wii U such as Super Mario 3D World, Wii Fit U and Wii Sports Club. You know, the kind of games that grandma and grandpa plays. In the hopes that it will make the console sell more but I highly doubt it. But starting next year, Nintendo will be focusing heavily on games aimed at the “enthusiastic gamer”.
Can't believe he didn't mention Mario Kart 8. That game looks like the 8th wonder. :)
I had a WiiU, it got stolen :(
I may pick one up next year if I see a good deal on Kijiji, other than that, I will wait until the holidays/2015.
Maybe by then there will be enough games to make me actually use it more than 1-2 times a month.
I have been waiting ages to get some proper Nintendo games in HD, and so far Nintendo has blown it.
I bought one and sold it already. Because there s no game. Atleast there s no game for me.
I would buy it if it does. :)
I'd hope so, nintendo needs to take more advantage of there online system. 8 player mario party like dem gamecube days!
