Graphics sometimes better on ps3 although overall the same on both except for the bloom on PS3. Ps3 screen tearing and frame drops, much smoother on 360.

Ok, I don't see a difference other than the lighting, which both look really good. Doesn't look like Ubisoft undated the graphics too much from the previous version though. Who cares...the game looks like a blast. Can't wait to pick it up.

PS3 version going by this video definitely looks less muddy and washed out then the 360. Lighting and specular high lights are far better, as is the overall color. The models (player and NPC) look more like Crysis, were as the 360 version look kind of flat.

Surprising for a UE3 engine game, UE3 is probably the worst engine when it comes to the PS3. Mind you, apart from the player models it looks pretty standard on both platforms.

They look the same. 49 seconds in, you can see the cables on top on the roof in the PS3 version. It's nowhere to be found on the 360 version......but they are identical games, to bad the online play didn't change.... ANY!

IGN and others of course say the 360 version looks better, but this video shows PS3 looking better. Any gameplay videos on the internet are always deceiving anyway because I'm playing at max res (720p) on my LCD and it doesn't look like these videos. It's definitely not as good.

Both have plus and minus points to cancel each other out. Considering where the PS3 was this time last year with multi-plat titles, this is an improvement.

Man the game is so difficult. STuck on the 2nd mission where one person has to disable some krap and as soon the AI guy goes to disable it enemies start pouring from all sides and all three of us die within secs. I gave up after few tries and startd playing COD4 online again.

If your picky, Maybe the lighting/colours are a little warmer on the PS3 and the Shadows are a little better on the 360.

Safe to agree for everyone, that the differences are stupidly minor. And multiplatform titles are neck and neck.

Better lighting, colors, anti-aliasing to the PS3.
Better shadows, and frame rate to the 360.

Soon the games are going to be super identical, people are going to argue which specific pixels look better.

To be complete honest I'd say both are bad I mean looks at Crysis or Uncharted this is just a bit better than R6 Vegas and both versions have pro and con some will say PS3 version cuz of best lighting I love Sony more than MS but I'll have to go with better frame rate

what i saw, the ps3 versions lighting was orangy while the 360s was more bluish white lol. And definatly the AA is superior on the ps3. They are ugly jaggies on the 360 version(look at 20 seconds and onwards). Wheres that free AA everyones been boasting about with 360s 10mb edram? and bloom is also more noticable on ps3, look at the part where the pan through the snowy mountains. To me this is clearly in ps3s favour. The tide is starting to turn.

I called Ubisoft and they said they were working on their servers to make it better, yet I dont see any differance since the title launched.

I think its a great game though, when it works. If anyone thinks is cause of a router issue, I even tried going straight to the modem, and no it doesnt have any security firewall either,, Its totally Ubisofts fault,,,

During the call with the ubi rep I asked him why does run better on the xbox and he said something about the 360 having better support or something about the infrastructure, I said "why does every other multiplatform game run fine?" it is the only game I know that has bullet lag or connection issues. Then he just got all crappy with me so I hung up.

They each have their advantages over each other in different categories. Colors, shadowing, motion blur, framerate, ect.

Give me a break! They both looked pretty good. Neither version looked to be top quality on its respective hardware and without the side by side comparison with the captions telling you which is which, nobody would be able to pick which system each one was running on.

Know what would be really funny? I hope one day they make a mistake on the captions and reverse them and then reveal the "error" a week later. Just so the fanboys can put their foot (or other appropriate body part) in their mouths.

it's sad, but i've gotten use to it. I thought the ps3 would be an upgrade graphically when i bought it. I should have just waited for the 720, which WILL be a monster. Well we still have MGS4, this game better deliver.

Have they set the rgb to full instead of limited and enabled superwhite on ps3 version? because they haven't done it in other comparisions lol.

From looking at the video alone, the only thing I noticed is that the color is slightly different. Whereas a piece of metal may appear more gray on the 360, it seems to have a slightly orange/brown tint on the PS3.

Critics have said that the PS3 is slightly better, while the 360 has a slightly better framerate. Whatever, this game is awesome. They improved upon the already awesome control scheme (you can sprint now) and the way you rank up. If you liked the first one, you'll like this one too.

Anyone notice a slight difference in the PS3 version when not running it in 1080p? cause i remember in RV6 for PS3 the first game, they had a problem with the up convert with 1080i and made the game horrible, im not sure if they patched that up, but for the RV6 2, for me it looks slighty better in 720p rather than 1080p, just wanted to see if any others tried to change the video settings to see if it looked any better.

I thought the colours and lighting looked fantastic on the ps3 and the frame rate and shadows were fantastic on the 360. My advice for ppl who don't know which version to get would be to buy the one where you have more friends on (live or psn). Other than that, do eenie meanie minie mo.

I am actually disappointed in RSV2. I was hoping Ubi would have made a bigger jump graphically then they did with this title. It feels (looks and plays) more like an expansion pack then a sequel. COD4 spoiled me.

If you have both systems this is a tough choice. The 360 has better shadows and the PS3 better lighting. I rented it for both because I wasn't sure how much play time it I would give this title since I am still not bored of COD4.

I had a hard time noticing any difference. I didn't notice any framerate issues or jaggies on either version.
Some scenes looked better to me on the ps3 and some looked better on the 360.

"same engine as the first" "looks the same as the original" who cares??? if it's fun, play it. Look at the Wii, just updated Gamecube graphics and not even HD but millions still buy it and enjoy it. Graphics aren't everything.

Look the same to me, infact I'm, a bit disappointed with the standard of graphics..things have not moved too far forward since the last game. Still graphics are not the be all and end all and I bet this is still a wicked game. One for me anyway :)

There are little differences but overall pretty much the same game on both systems. Compared to the last one with the PlayStation 3 looking all blurring I think this is a big step for the PlayStation 3 than the XBOX 360.

Developers usually use the last game like a skeleton to produce the next game. So with the XBOX 360 version last time looking more clearer made it have slightly better details. The PlayStation 3 on the other hand handles lighting and colours differently than the XBOX 360.

So if the last PlayStation 3 version came out better I do believe that the PlayStation 3 would've had an edge. With better colours and the help of cell games generally look a lot better on the PlayStation 3.

I'll be getting this on the PlayStation 3 because of P2P servers and free online.

it just can not compete with COD4 ...i have played it and i like the terrorist hunt so far and the single story but the online sucks lol and since my 2 team mates are super mans they have great aim and must have extra health than i do.... i usually leave to hold in one area so that they dont kill everyone even before i get inside the other door that i want to outflank he enemy....but yeah its a rental for the most part and i play it on a ps3...

The first game is much better, it's not a map pack UBI "sequel" like this one, and also much better on 360 :)

Let's be real and objective here. They both look graphically the same; no version stands on top over another. However, we all know ps3 is capable of producing the better graphic than this; just look at GT5 and killzone2. The 360 seem to have hit its limit with gears.

on the PS3 look like total garbage. I'm not sure what the problem is, maybe devs. using default PS3 tools to cast character shadows, but they look absolutely horrible.

I'm not sure which game on the PS3 "solved" this issue, but I wish they would teach other people how to do it.

Fuking framerate suck bigtime. This game is still bogus and slow as hell. Kick a door open flash and clear that simple. Then to top it all off after seeing COD4 in high resolution whats makes you think i would touch the Dry @ss lo-res, frameskipping trash?

I own both systems and because of this article I chose to purchase the 360 version for a faster frame rate. But to my disappointment there are moments (quite a few in battle) where the frame rate drops almost to unplayable. I think this is in excusable for a system that has been out for this long. It looks almost identical to the 1st Rainbow 6 vegas as well. It is still a fun game, but there are so many things that Ubisoft dropped the ball on.

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

It’s always interesting to hear behind-the-scenes stories like this, especially involving veterans like Shuhei Yoshida and leadership figures like Jim Ryan. That said, there are usually multiple sides to decisions at that level. It could be less about not “listening” and more about differences in long-term vision for PlayStation. Yoshida played a huge role in shaping the brand, so whatever the reason, his impact is undeniable.

If true, and I'm inclined to believe it is, it goes to show that Sony lost their way when they became more western/didn't respect the PlayStation origin story. Andrew House and Jack Tretton did great work, but they also didn't try to fundamentally change the PlayStation DNA. Ryan oversaw the death of Japan Studio and a live service direction.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.
