Chris Buffa (Modojo): Classic Tetris still entertains, but the 29-year-old game was still in need of a reboot. Electronic Arts answered the call with Tetris Blitz, a fast-paced and arcade-style effort for iOS and Android that combines the frantic intensity of placing tetriminos with a constantly ticking clock, wrapped within a futuristic presentation. Despite featuring one mode, this free-to-play puzzler will consume hours of your life, and after playing it extensively, we're proud to say it's time well spent.
Carl Williams writes, "Okay who doesn’t know about Tetris by now? For the few that do not know, Tetris is a falling block game from the 80’s. Various companies from Nintendo to, now, EA have kept the brand alive and well on many different platforms. Android and iPhone are just a couple of the newer platforms. Recently, Electronic Arts updated Tetris Blitz and renamed it, at least in the store pages, adding “2016 Edition” to the title."
