
GamesRadar - Lately, Nintendo is getting some grief from gamers for how it’s handling the Wii U post-launch, but how bad can a company be if it charges 30 cents for a game like Super Metroid? Ranked third on our list of the best games ever, the SNES classic just arrived on the Wii U’s Virtual console, and it’s only $0.30 for the next few weeks. If that isn’t enough to sell you on it, editors Henry, Ryan, and Lucas dove into the game for this week’s RadarPlays Retro to show you (or, at least, attempt to show you) why this game is such a big deal.

Super Metroid was a monumental triumph of interactive art, a game that achieved new heights in presentation, level design, and pacing, and despite a few flaws, manages to hold up astoundingly well to this day.

Fusion did a great job at it. Really love that horror feel with metroid. I mean you are completely alone on alien planets filled with horrific monsters and toxic environments.

The 2024 Game Anniversaries include some major titles including Half-Life 2, Uncharted 2, and Minecraft.
