With a 360price cut and the release of GTA and GT Prolouge it should really tell the truth. If the 360 is outsold WW and even in NA over the next 3 months there will be no spin that will save the 360 from certain lose

but if the 360 does indeed outsell the PS3 over the next 3months then its safe to say they will be ummmmm competive till the end of this gens life cycle

the author has some points if pointing out the current situation of both services, however he failed to do research and mention what improvements sony will be making in the coming months.

The fact that they are entirely focused on downloading movies rather than purchasing on a disc (and in full HD). It's unfortunate that they overlooked some very important advantages the PS3 offers over the 360, such as full Divx certification, professional quality upscaling technology, native Blu-ray 2.0 support, etc. It also offers the ability to stream content off of computers connected either through LAN or Wireless (like the 360) which my friend Chris and his roommates have found very useful.

this Arthur doesn't seem to know much about the gaming industry for starters,

hardware base sony's machine is superior in multiple areas the rest is just software in which all that could be taken care off given the right amount of time.

the 360 yeah does offer a greater service in live but, everything else the ps3 is superior.3% failure rate which is only match by the wii system, a quieter system, and no power brick packed in the box.

do we know why the 360 has movies for download? its obvious they don't have a built in high depth player to sway the casual to its machine.

also while the 360 does have the multi media in its o.s the hardware has issues.

a baby step now from sony isn't such a bad thing considering how fast or far the ps3 has come, heck even the psp too have been through many changes.

first off i would like to pin point out some major differences between the 360 and the ps3 and you guys tell me which is the better deal in the long run.

okay every ps3 is equipped with a hard drive, wifi, HDMI port, and a blu ray drive.

all of which can cost you more if you were to try and get that on a basic 360 console.

the elite's most intriguing feature is the size of its hard drive which currently sits pretty at 120 gb. yes it too has a built in HDMI port as well.

but thats just it every other model has one feature while lacking another in the process. does any of this really matter? well if you are a developer you want something standard so you wont have to cut around or compressed your work. so as far hardware goes the ps3 has a more standardize approach than the 360 does.

as far as the networks go xbox live is by far the superior service of the two hands down.

but my senses tells me that this Arthur isn't even considering the many changes the psn is going through and the many features coming in the coming months to add to the cost.

for example just look at the new upcoming 2.20 update? and the features it brings, thats a baby step in the right direction.

at the same time the psn features things like a web browser which by the way is said to have some improvements in this very same update as well. this is something live is missing, the 150 limit? which is only lifted when devs cry out loud, this is a problem the psn doesn't have as a result you get big games like warhawk wipeout HD, socom:confrontation among others that with that 150mb limit impose by live aren't possible on the 360 arcade module.

not trying to knock live or anything as it does offer a superior experience, BUT experience is the key word isn't it? live wasnt always this grand or glamorous , but in time it evolved into what today is the best online service on gaming consoles. and hats of to MS for setting the way of online gaming on consoles.

but on the same token the psn really didn't kick off until the ps3 arrived not too long ago which proves sony's commitment to online. guys look at how far we've come. in such a short time sure its been pretty ugly at times but the more i think about all this articles seem irrational to the point where everything the say its obvious and sound desperate about things they themselves didn't conduct good research on.

have this very same Arthur's work on the inside these articles would start fading.

look im not saying that everything sony is working on will come out perfect and everyone would flock the malls to grab a ps3, but things like home and the 2.4 F.W.update will further enhance the psn experience to comparable measures with live, watch and you'll see for yourselves.

as of now the video service will come when sony, who by the way owns like 3 (columbia,tristar,mgm) movie studios and tv studios and music labels/studios say its ready. in the meantime however sony's got hardware they got blu ray, and if thats a bady step, than i simply wonder what this is going to look like in two years time when the prices reach the mass market point.

also by this time the psn would have improved in many areas as well, ofcourse this is not to say that live wont either, but considering the psn is a free of charge service this can only be a good thing for us ps3 owners. not to mention many good games will be around for the picking as well.

This sounds like something I'd hear on a news channel, spouted by some uninformed news reporter doing a "study" on digital media.

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

It’s always interesting to hear behind-the-scenes stories like this, especially involving veterans like Shuhei Yoshida and leadership figures like Jim Ryan. I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

There's another guy who recently "retired" as CEO of another large gaming company, after doing a dismantling job as lead for well over a decade.

seems legit, the business man, fires the one who has ideas to move the business forward.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.
