Avid Gamer got a chance to play through the latest game to include Sonic. They look at the graphics, gameplay and level design and weigh up whether Sonic on a hoverboard is successful or whether Sonic should have stayed in the Genesis era.

Actually I am in my 20's and have gone back and played many of the Sonic games made, personally I find a lot of the older games to be absolutely awful with a particular nod to the original Sonic the Hedgehog. I know a good game when I play it and the games on my list and ones that are truly great and the pinnacle of the Sonic experience.
Well. I guess an opinion is an opinion.
But just because you can't make it through a game doesn't make it bad.

For me it would be.
1. Sonic Adventure
2. Sonic 2
3. Sonic and Knuckles
4. Sonic 3
5. Sonic the Hedgehog 1991
That's pretty much my list, only I'd put S&K and Sonic 3 at 1 and 2. And maybe drop Adventure for Sonic Chaos for GameGear/Master System, I had so much fun with that game.
