When Max Payne studio Remedy Entertainment moved on from the adventures of a hardboiled cop to insomniac author Alan Wake (who also shoots stuff), gamers let forth a collective "hm." But almost three years later, the unique horror shooter has carved out a comfortable niche.

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "All in all, it’s not hard to see why Alan Wake has received a bit of a cult following (there’s that famous foreshadowing again). It’s a title that blends themes and gameplay, while pushing the limits of storytelling by putting stories within stories and letting you read those stories before you get to that part in… the story. It has flaws, to be sure - the gameplay side can’t quite keep up with the rest of its ambitions - but overall it’s a great game that stands out among its peers and is undeniably… one for the books."

Remedy has announced a new Alan Wake book and more as part of their anniversary celebration.

MP1st talks to Remedy Entertainment about FBC: Firebreak and even Alan Wake about game budgets, live-service and more.
Glad to see a game that did something different finally caught on to the sales it deserved. Honestly, the game was pirated millions of times, so it should have done even better.
Hopefully we see an Alan Wake 2 on the next Xbox at launch, or shortly thereafter.
I bought it in a bargain bin Im so glad I didn't pay $60 for it when it was released
I loved the story. Nuff said.
You can thank the PC gamers for that sales boost, Remedy.
The game tanked on 360 when it was exclusive ( and gimped )
Maybe next time they should launch it day and day on PC with the other version(s).
I enjoyed this game even though it did get a little repetitive. Great atmosphere and sound.
If Alan Wake 2 is a launch window title then I'll likely get the next Xbox. However, I'm still worried that MS doesn't value it's core audience.
PS4 for sure though :)
