I mean am I the only one that doesn't give a crap about DoTA 2.

I thought they said the Steambox is going to compete against next gen consoles this year, so why haven't they shown it off yet. If they don't show Half Life 3 this year it means they'll show it off next year with a release date for 2015. I can't wait that long...at least show it this year so you can release it in 2014

Given the time that has passed and Valves ostensible disregard for shedding even the most remote light on their game development, Half-Life 3 (if it exists) will either be one of the greatest games ever made or a complete let down.

Well this is irritating. I've given up all hopes now for Hl3. It'll happen when it'll happen. And maybe then nobody will care

the excitement for E3 2013 is dying day by day for me.

I gotta say this is not even the least bit surprising.

i dont understand why valve is so respected amongst the gaming community they havent released a game since 2007...talk about terrible work ethic.

So they have nothing to show, great, that's how you build momentum for a gaming console

It's not even cute anymore. I love almost everything Valve have put out, Half-life 2 and it's expansions being possibly my favourite games of all time and for a long while I could joke around about the delay in receiving Half-life 3 but it's just got too far beyond amusing. There's taking your time to get a game just right and there's allowing generations to pass before releasing it.

I'm not even talking about console generations either. We're at the point that many of the folks who played Half-life 2 have grown up and got families and moved on from gaming. It's beyond ridiculous. At this point they're not making us wait for the conclusion to their most important franchise. At this point we can just say that they just gave their most important franchise a crappy ending and moved on. So much for being the truly respectable company that really cares about creating important works of digital art. Dropping such a beloved franchise after a cliffhanger ending like that is far more disrespectful to the consumer than the money grabbing crap pulled by EA and Capcom. Valve, I loved you once but you disgust me now.

After 8 years of checking this site at least once a week, I finally signed up just to comment on this shit. Valve is obviously ok with fucking with peoples' emotions I mean COMON the ending of HL2 ep. 2 was the cliffhanger of all cliffhangers!!! If a sequel isn't released within a year I won't buy it even if it's GOTY material.

Why would they attend and have to compete with the stage hogs MS and Sony? Nintendo is not attending for this very same reason.

Regardless, Valve has consistently put out games year after year. I wanna see what they would bring to compete with this generation this year.

Valve are one of very few developers who make true high quality games that are worthy of their praise unlike some constant console recycled shooters *cough* Halo, COD.

Valve will host their own Steam box event and it will be here that HL3 and L4D 3 will be announced as timed exclusives for the steam box/steam. No need for them to get caught up in the clutter at E3 this year.

So... Nintendo, 2K Games, Rockstar (to be fair, Rockstar is only always doing their own thing) and now Valve :/

Hey Valve you and the imaginary HL3 that will never come out can go fuck yourself. No one cares anymore and if it ever does come out it'll be too little too late. The new Duke Nukem Forever and Diablo III. You sucked the life out of the entire franchise by taking so long to release it. So suck it!

Valve rarely does anything but be silent till they can release something cool. I think anything they make is always ground breaking. Hope HL3 comes out with amazing physics engine. Mods are still being made on old source engine, so HL3 will explode with the community. When, if ever announced.

Too busy with steambox I guess? If theyre smart, just release new games or sequels like half life 3. The competition in the console gaming is fierce with the Big 3. A fourth player is unnecessary But only if their goal are console players. If its the PC market theyre targeting then they may have a chance.
