it just goes to show that capcom is just to lazy to release one on our system. we have had the warhawk beta which went well and now we have the home beta going on. we also have a killzone, MGSO, LBP Betas coming this year also.

Capcom, if you don't like PS3, juste say it. You can even stop developping on PS3, the real Capcom died years ago.

Because its like this, at one time being with a system made them money, SONY was always good to them. Helped them further. WHen they supported NES , atari it made sense to go away from them because they as a company werent doing great. Nintendo bounced back however not atari. So SONY is doing great did great over 10 years ago so why the change of heart Capcom? MS Give you just a tad extra in teh money dep? Be honest.......atleast that is an answer that seems much more believable

I'm happy that the games i really care about will be from some other software house (Square-Enix, Guerrilla, Mediamolecule, Namco... Sony itself....). The old good times with Crapcom are finished for the poor PS3 users.

Well most of the betas on the PS3 have been for first party games, maybe just maybe Sony/Capcom can not supply the Beta on the PS3. IDK tbh, also if people keep on making the same thread over and over again it gets annoying to point where you want to find these stupid people and punch them in the head.

There was a Warhawk beta and Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is what? There was even Lost Planet an online demo that got pulled. That technically can be called a beta because they put an online component of the game to the public. It wasn't working so they pulled it down and fixed it in way they learned something from it.

I do believe Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is going to have an online demo next month. The catch is that you have to pre-order the game while supplies last (passwords). So we'll see if Konami will have an MGS Online beta in April.

The strange thing about this is that Sony has P2P servers so you don't have to work on Sony's servers. The XBOX 360 has client servers meaning that they have to put the game on Microsoft servers. In other words they control everything they just need Sony to put it into the Store.

So this is the thanks they show for Sony after they've been forgiven for going exclusive for Nintendo. Sony should never let them near any Playstation products again and see them go down with M$.

Capcom...your multiplatform aproach is not FAIR to me. Devil MC 4 could ended up looking wayy better if they take advantage of the PS3 and dont downgrade it to the 360. Dont believe me? Just look at Heavenly Sword. Look at UNCHARTED. Capcom cant take advantage of the PS3 yet they downgraded the graphics of SF2ST to fit in LIVE service. COME ON GUYS!!! Thanks CAPCOM!!

If they wanted to do it they coudve I just think thats pure laziness on their part and seen that the 360 was easier to set up at the time so they just went with it. But guys it is only a beta and really not that serious you have to buy another game anyway to be apart of it and the 1s complaining I doubt wont get it anyway so I dont see why any of us should care.

Also I hope people wont confuse this with a tech issue on ps3 part but actual Sony company. Its a communication problem not a tech problem with the system I know some fanboys are just waiting for something to spit on about the ps3.

im starting to think capcom is becoming a cheap lazy company, i mean if you carefully look at what they are doing, they are basically making smaller games for live and psn, and than simply rehash or port ps2 titles to the wii,
anything else results in financial tactics to stay alive in this market. don't know what i mean yet? hmm lets look at it this way. RE5 is a multi-platform release but the game most likely wont come out until almost if not until 09, when we know this game is about 80% complete, why? i think it helps them financially specially since they are just banking on smaller titles and washed out ports.

by the time RE5 rolls out development costs on the ps3 will become cheaper due to hardware changes in the cell chips and such, blu ray might also get a reduction as well, but even so the 360 development tools will become a lot cheaper than that as well. so for a expensive project like RE5 to come out capcom may just sit back and wait it out a bit.

lost planet didn't come to the ps3, until sony had cut development costs by half, and yet we got a washed out port of a year old game, and this is how they don't want people to be loyal to one console? give me a brake.

DMC4 is another example, this is coming of a exclusive playstation franchise, why couldn't the game remain exclusive to the playstation platform? answer simple, because they capcom couldn't afford the expense of development costs on one platform especially if that console cost a lot more to make games for than its competitors. the 360 on the other hand is a cheaper alternative so games like dead rising, can remain exclusive to that platform.

bottom line here is that capcom a once top 3rd publisher has become a rather cheap version of EA, i mean peter moore runs things in EA so madden looking better on the 360 and mass effect remaining exclusives are therefore self explanatory. but capcom? whats the deal.

its a shame really but even segasammy who's losing money left and right, is making exclusive content on multi-platforms. not ports or rehashes of old games either. yakazu 3(ps3)5th phantom(ps3)Valkrie (ps3) mario and sonic olympics (wii) ect ect.heck take 2 is losing money and even they have deliver an exclusive ip to the xbox 360 and rockstar is working on a ps3 exclusive called L.A.noire. but capcom is just cheap in my opinion. i know people on here are going to say things like but a company is here to make profit not losses, while true that also holds some false to it everything in this business involves risks whether big ones or small ones, without these risks the market cant really move forward like it should or else we will stand still wondering where are the games, when in reality there are everywhere. but people buy consoles to play games but also to make use of its benefits and one of those would be exclusive content, that should be deliver not only from rich companies like Sony,MS,NINTY but also smaller companies like capcom and take 2 as well.

and regarding where and on what systems did some of todays biggest games and franchises began there lives on, well than capcom please do tell me where did Devil may cry begin? onimusha? and at times is not where a game begins but where a game becomes huge and so far from what i can recall rival schools, resident evil, mega man legends, breathe of fire, street fighter ex, and so on,you capcom were one if not the most profitable companies benefiting of the old playstation one and two days, so when a game like devil may cry 4 goes multi-platform on its loyal fanbase than flame wars becomes rampant like the rage itself as loyalty is put to the test, thats why there will always be loyalists in this business or in its community.

i mean its crazy how this company conducts its business, project justice the sequel to a playstation best seller rival schools goes dreamcast exclusive, all capcom/marvel games always sold better on the playstation platforms yet it took years of begging and countless petitions just to get marvel vs capcom 2 on a playstation platform, and yet a broken port at that why capcom why? than sega gets resident evil in code veronica and had not the dreamcast die playstation owners wouldn't probably gotten it either. RE4 man o man the creator promise to cut his head off if resident evil 4 ever grace another console that wasn't the cube, while knowing too well it would only sell better on a playstation platform, i mean i just hope that guy still has his head attach to his body. had a game like REzero release on the ps2 it would have sold double if not tripple the amount it did. they said 2d games couldn't be done right on the ps2 but than i always looked at guilty gears and when i sent them an e-mail they simply reply that it sucked and next thing you know 3rd strike after almost 3 years of exile arrives on the ps2, but why take so long? answer capcom loved sega hardware a lot to the point that they dedicated most of their development resources on sega boards instead of concentrating on a multi-platform board. i mean being that dreamcast was a cheaper buy for most people and also cost capcom next to nothing to make games on it, while other top companies like namco, konami, EA and squarenix took greater risks on making exclusive and new ips on the ps2 platform it wasn't until the ps2 became a lot cheaper to work on that capcom fully committed to it, with Resident evil rejects known as devil may cry and onimusha. heck even dino crisis was a hit on playstaion and than here comes the 3rd an xbox exclusive? what the? lol. even today their past is reflecting today just look at what they are doing look at how they deal business, it always comes down to lets avoid the sony platform until it becomes more profitable, than give em some ports or remakes of old games or franchises like powerstone on psp, megaman x on psp or lost planet on the ps3 after everyone else gets done whipping their noses clean with them.lol but in all seriousness capcom in my opinion is a cheap company with great ips nothing more. sure make countless ps2 to wii ports cash in survive and make quota, or simply try and remake your old library and make earnings, or give us the old washed out ports which you seem to be good at, you cheap bastards. lol

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

It’s always interesting to hear behind-the-scenes stories like this, especially involving veterans like Shuhei Yoshida and leadership figures like Jim Ryan. That said, there are usually multiple sides to decisions at that level. It could be less about not “listening” and more about differences in long-term vision for PlayStation. Yoshida played a huge role in shaping the brand, so whatever the reason, his impact is undeniable.

If true, and I'm inclined to believe it is, it goes to show that Sony lost their way when they became more western/didn't respect the PlayStation origin story. Andrew House and Jack Tretton did great work, but they also didn't try to fundamentally change the PlayStation DNA. Ryan oversaw the death of Japan Studio and a live service direction.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

There's another guy who recently "retired" as CEO of another large gaming company, after doing a dismantling job as lead for well over a decade.

seems legit, the business man, fires the one who has ideas to move the business forward.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.
